Land Purchase

Featured Replies

My wife (Thai) and I are in Canada at present, and we will not return to Thailand for a while. We (she) already owns a house in Thailand.

My question is this...

How can we purchase land (in Thailand) from outside the country (from Canada).

There is a Thai Consulate in Vancouver, BC.

We looked at some land some months ago but could not make a deal and now it appears that a deal could be made at a good price. The problem is it is not cost efective for us to travel just to buy land. Can we somehow do the deal from here, Her father lives not fat away from the District where the land is located.

Any help would be much appreciated.. :o

She can appoint her father as power of attorney to attend to the acquisition and the settlement. The RTCG in Vancouver can provide the form and witness her signature.

We have just bought a piece of land and while the deal went very easy I do think it is essential that you are there to check documentation and the condition of the land at time of purchase.

If the land has any other document than a Chanot certification there can be all manner of problems determining boundaries and title.

Thanks for the Info. I think we will go the Power of Atourney route. Her father is familiar with the property, as he owns some farm land nearby and can inspect it for us. He was the one that originally found and took us to see it. The Property is raw land that is Chanot regestered as well.

Thanks
