Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Thailand,  as ‘Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation’ concluded.


The Thai Prime Minister and Chinese President pledged to enhance Thai-China relations, both sides agreed to work together to respond to common challenges and to boost trade and investment, particularly in targeted industries, such as electric vehicles, batteries, semiconductors and clean energy.

 

Prime Minister Srettha departed Beijing, last night and headed for Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, to attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit starting today.

 

Thailand’s Anti-Money Laundering Office says  Up to half a million bank accounts could be false accounts opened to facilitate fraud.


From next month people who make cash deposits at ATMs will be required to verify their identities to allow transactions to be more easily traced.


Police are checking accounts they suspect may have been duped for use by criminal gangs. 


more than 10,000 people have been identified connected with 70,000 accounts used to defraud victims.

 

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to expand a 20-baht flat fare to all city train services, following the launch of its pilot scheme along the Purple and red lines. However the flat fare is likely to cause delays in the construction of new train services, as more time would be required for  private companies to recoup their investment.

 

A group of riders "Cycling Against Cancer" were greeted at a Cha-Am petrol station yesterday . after cycling 1,139 kilometers from  Mae Sai to Hua Hin over seven days. Guided by a local school's director, the cyclists continued south on Petchkasem Road, making their way to Cha-Am Beach then on to Hua Hin, where the District Chief of Hua Hin and the Rotary Club greeted them.
