An 18-wheel truck carrying molasses lost control and tipped over in the middle of Ram Intra Road’s outbound lane, causing a lengthy traffic jam and several motorcycles to slip and fall. The incident occurred at 5am today, according to Deputy Traffic Police Inspector Buncha Jantakun of Kunnayao Police Station, who was notified of the accident.

 

The toppled 18-wheeler, a white Isuzu with registration numbers 64-3444 and 64-4499, spilt molasses across a 50-metre stretch of the road. As a result, three to four motorcycles driving by lost control and fell, with their riders suffering minor abrasions.

 

Due to the accident, officials had to block off the two left lanes of the road, directing traffic to use only the right lane leading to the bridge. This caused a significant traffic jam on the outbound lane of Ram Intra Road, expected to last for several hours while awaiting the removal of the toppled truck.

I have seen it in Villa Market outlets.

I bet if any of us tried to overturn an 18-wheeler we'd probably fail. But Thais seem to find it easy. A different kind of driving 'skill', I suppose.

Very sticky situation indeed. I'll bet the ants had the biggest party of their lifetimes.

Reminds me of a famous incident in Boston.  In 1921, a storage tank holding 2.1 million gallons of molasses burst in Boston's North End.  21 persons were killed in the resulting flood.
