ENTERTAINMENT VENUES TO BE legally allowed to open until 4 a.m. will only refer to those in Bangkok and three provinces widely known as major tourist spots and nowhere else in an initial stage, said Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul today (Nov.6).

The planned extension in the opening hours for these entertainment venues in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chonburi and Phuket would likely be effective as of Dec.15 at a height of the country’s tourist season whilst those in all other provinces will not yet be initially provided such leniency, Anutin said.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin had earlier said the Pheu Thai-led government’s policy to extend the entertainment venues’ opening hours is primarily designed to promote tourism and create jobs for those making a living with them.
