The government will announce details of its 10,000-baht digital money handout today while critics say it will do more harm than good to the economy. 


Prime minister thavisin said other coalition partners have not voiced any concerns.Meanwhile, critics called "The Digital Money Handout: A Disaster for the Future of the Country? 


The PM is due to hold a press conference on this afternoon.

 

Over 50 activists, some dressed in Halloween-style costumes depicting injuries from alcohol-related accidents, protested at the Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi yesterday, the group opposes the government's plan to extend night entertainment hours to 4am. They argue that this decision increases the risk of drunk driving accidents.

 

The chairman and secretary of a Samut Prakan local authority were arrested for allegedly accepting a 2.3-million-baht bribe from a local company. Anti-corruption officers took action after the company filed a complaint, triggered by the officials demanding the bribe in exchange for a land excavation permit, typically priced at 500 baht. The incident was caught on video.

 

An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude struck Parts of Mae Hong Son yesterday afternoon. No damage was reported,  
the quake was felt in Chaing Mai city for about five seconds, causing some high buildings and houses to shake. 

 

Social media has seen calls to stop releasing "sea lanterns" during this year's Loi Krathong on November 27. Environmental advocates, including "Monsoon-garbage Thailand," are promoting the message to curb waste and environmental damage.
