Around 11:00 PM, at the Boon Kai area on Rama IV Road, high-ranking police officials, including Deputy Commissioner General Surachet 'Big Joke' Hakpan, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Surachet Bandit, and other officers, conducted a thorough inspection of alcohol checkpoints.

The operation was carried out in two locations: Boon Kai, Rama IV Road, and in front of Klong Prem Prison on Ngam Wong Wan Road. The purpose was to supervise and boost the morale of the officers on duty, while also emphasizing the need for integrity and transparency, reported Siam Rath.

The officials strictly instructed the checkpoint staff to refrain from any form of corruption, warning that any officer found engaging in such activities would face criminal and disciplinary actions. This directive extended to the supervisors of the checkpoints, inspectors, and deputy directors.

Senior Police Official Surachet emphasized the critical importance of obeying road safety regulations to the community, with a particular focus on the dangers of alcohol-impaired driving.

He pointed out the dire outcomes of such reckless behavior, stating that drunk driving is responsible for more than 80% of the nation's road mishaps, causing extensive harm to people and property. In his role overseeing traffic operations, he pledged to rigorously uphold these laws across the police force.

In a final gesture of support, the visiting officials distributed mineral water and canned coffee to the checkpoint officers, a token of care and encouragement from the Commissioner of Police. This act aimed to boost the morale and dedication of the officers in their ongoing duties.
