Corrections Dept, Police Hospital Representatives Face House Panel Grilling On Thaksin

REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CORRECTIONS Department and Police Hospital are scheduled on the upcoming Thursday to testify before the House Committee on Police Affairs over the extended stay of the “sickly” de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra at the hospital.

House Committee on Police Affairs vice chair/Move Forward MP Nattapong Sumanotham confirmed today (Dec.11) that representatives of the Corrections Department and Police Hospital are obliged to give truthful testimony before the House panel about the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large who has been staying at the hospital for nearly four months now without schedule for dispatchment and return to Bangkok Remand Prison.

At issue for the House Committee on Police Affairs to deliberate is whether the country’s judicial and correctional procedures and legal loopholes may have been compromised only to grant special privileges for Thaksin who has been alleged of feigning “illnesses” the details and symptoms of which remain in secrecy and manipulating to keep himself from being literally put behind bars since he returned from self-exile abroad on Aug.22, according to the House panel’s vice chair.

Just let him go on with his life. Everyone will be happy and the media will love telling daily stories.

Yes he can get on with it in Jail where he has been legally sentenced.

I was confined to bed rest before he returned. I still am stuck on a cot in our living room.

Doctors should make these decisions, not disgruntled political factions.

The Cheque is in the post.

Yes, in the first instance.. whether he can be discharged. But I suspect there is a greater power over what happens.

It doesn't really matter how sick he is. The question is how sick he is compared to the thousands of other inmates who are also sick.

Is he, who arrived seemingly healthy on his private plane, the sickest inmate of all of them?

And if there are maybe 100 inmates who are sicker than him, do they all get VIP treatment in hospitals for months?

The Thai prison system should obviously be concerned about their inmates. If they are seriously ill, then they should get treated.

And that applies to all inmates and all of them in the same way. A sick pick pocket thief should be treated in the same way that a politician is treated.

So, how many other inmates are sick and how are they treated?

Everybody knows that he bought his way out of prison corruption from the top to the bottom. TIT.

Sounds  a bit like the foxes in charge of the chicken shed investigating themselves over the reduction of chickens under their care.

Bad Decisions Make Great Stories. Perhaps it was a bad decision to give him super, extra special, unusual, controversial, VIP treatment upon his return by his private jet.

There will be no end to the "stories".

This is all just a big show.  Yes, they'll all be there at centre stage "grilling" the police hospital reps but of course it will be found that Mr Thaksin truly is too ill to leave hospital and for reasons of privacy the detaills of his ailments will not be released.  Furthermore, he must remain in hospital under constant care at taxpayers expense until at least February when, coincidently, he will be pardoned.  Next!

Before they start asking questions they should go through all of those people's bank accounts first including there families bank accounts as well just to see if any large deposits have been made since Taksin has returned if so then lock them up and then see how many doctors and politicians will stand behind him to protect Taksin or will they throw him under the bus,,,,,, in short lock Taksin up and finally start his sentence today

Ah, the white man's burden!

Your extraordinary, almost (perhaps it actually is) obsessive hatred of the man, and delight at his being overthrown by the right wing military is well known and exhaustively documented; together with your complete contempt for the Thai electorate. Although for some time now it has verged on the entertaining - you have become to critical observation of the Thai political scene what Benny Hill was to cerebral comedy!

Perhaps it is time again to point out once again, he was repeatedly elected in consecutive elections, and overthrown by the military when it looked like he was about to score another resounding victory. The same happened to his protege, his sister.

He went into exile because his enemies, then ascendant, would have killed him. He, and his sister were subsequent to their disposal, tried and sentenced in courts which had more than a whiff of a political taint. He remained popular within Thailand, there was never any doubt that if allowed to stand he would run again. The rest of the grown up world recognised Junta justice when they saw it. That is why he was free to roam the world for so many years, untouched by any sanctions, unworried at any attempts to return him to Thailand.

The current Thai political construct, although in so many ways a discredited fudge, recognises that, and makes it inevitable he will be pardoned and released. His sister is likely to return as well. The Thai population regard this as inevitable, and rather seem, if they are concerned at all, to approve.

I await with bated breath your "neo-orgasmic reaction" to these events -  Benny Hill, prepare for your grand finale!

Does a government office publish a libretto for this soap opera? I should like to obtain a copy and skip forward to the ending. Does a fat lady really sing?

Lately, first Pita and now Thaksin.  The Thai people are like a puppet on a string and do nothing about all of this other than complain.  To be in a hospital this long, he would have to be on his deathbed.

Mr T has been living rent free in the heads of the obsessives on here. They'll miss him when he's gone.

Some of their comments used to be mildly funny but now they're just downright spiteful towards an old man who had zero effect on their lives.

Truthful testimony! Is this an example of Thai humour?

Just more play acting that fools absolutely no-one. If he is so sick that he has to remain in a special - not prison - hospital then we can expect it to snow in Bangkok on Christmas Day.

None of your post - history lesson - relates to his extended stay in hospital rather than a prison cell.

a four month stay in hospital ?, I have never spent more than 3 weeks in hospital my whole life and that was a one time thing, if I was a thai I'd be extremely angry right now

Investigation means more people wanting pig heads in on the feed

The grilling - what another nice repeating activity in Thailand.

Well, the grill masters handling the grill station will be overjoying, that all is just bad mouthing and misunderstood and that everyone wishes Dr T the best of everything in a fast recovery which, by some medical professionals, might be taking place on 22 Februar 2024.

Get well, Sir, (almost) whole Thailand prays for your recovery
