BMA to announce new regulations on billboards

BANGKOK: -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will announce a new set of regulations covering the installation of advertising billboards, phone booths, police booths and traffic light cabinets to replace four previous redundant regulations.

BMA deputy governor Bannasopit Mekwichai said Wednesday that the committee to set criteria for the above-mentioned structures' installations in public spaces had approved the new regulations in early June. The Bangkok governor will now consider the regulations for approval and sign the draft.

The new draft originated from four previous redundant laws that included the regulations on installing billboards, on utilising public spaces, on installing traffic lights and police booths, and on applications for permits to utilise footpath spaces, she said.

I don't mind ads - but placing them on police booths is against the purpose of these objects.

police booth suppose to be seen, so in an emergency you safe time searching for them. They can't look like yet another food stall.
