Postage from Thailand

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the costs of postage for an item from Thailand to UK ?

I thought it was around 100bht per 100g weight.

Wife just went to post 5 x 50g jar tiger balm to UK and cheapest post was 800bht and 10-14 days delivery.

The staff then said she wasn't sure they could send oils at moment so it might not be able to be sent and if not they would return it to wife and keep the 800bht postage.

Anyone know the reason behind this ?

Have you seen the price in UK 😳

Wife just showed me the receipt and weight on it says 972g 😳

This is for 5 x 50g jars .

So the empty box they sold her to put it in weighed 700g roughly 🤔

Was white but no real difference as it's £10-16 for a 50g roughly.

Did you check what it would cost to order from UK in Singapore? Perhaps even costlier, but thats the origin country it comes from. Thailand produces under licence.

Thai post international is exorbitant and sloooww nowadays. Kinda Third world. It worked out 6x the postage to return a letter to the UK a while back, cheapest, two weeks min. EMS equivalent, around a week, was x3 again lol. Don’t bother. It’s a pisstake. I would sooner pay more at source than chuck money at them. You’ll get it off eBay or Amazon there in 24h.

Sent 4 pages to Australia today.

Quick.....1,200

Slow       230

Delivery not arrive....likely.

Strangely, Covid was quicker & cheaper🙃😘

Yeah found from looking online that probably far cheaper and quicker using a courier service in Thailand to do it . Odd as sending anything inside the country costs peanuts with post office. Although UK mail costs in the UK are a joke as well , but sending to Thailand not bad 😀

ePacket is usually the cheapest registered

This was the option before ePacket was introduced

Yeah but not a hope it weighed 972g for 5 small jars . Whatever they put it in must have been lead lined .😀

Too many dots in this one to tell if one is a decimal point.

First one shows a decimal point which surely shouldn't be there?

like I mentioned, the receipt is typed not hand written and I put down just what it says ....... (.076 grams) whatever, I do not really care what may or may not be possible or whatever, this is the OFFICIAL THAILAND Post Office receipt for my envelope.

76 grams sounds quite feasible by the time you have added the weight of the envelope.

A thousand sheets of A4 80 gsm would weigh 5.0kgs

A thousand sheets of A4 100 gsm would weigh 6.2 kgs

A thousand sheets of A4 120 gsm would weigh 7.5 kgs

American paper sizes for stationery and legal documents can be a bit oddball and they still calculate the weight in lbs per ream, so A4 and grammes per square metre are only a rough guide.

Yes, 76 grams, a typical weight.  The poster above (or Thai Post) indicated 0.076 grams which is a fraction of the weight of the envelope alone.

way beyond me, I just put down what is on my post office receipt for weight.  A  paper 87 or8 sheets, I don't recall - dental receipts to the health insurer in the eastern US.

the price on the chart is what I was charged for the envelope with 8 sheets of paper.

Exactly what I said.  76 grams or 0.076kg, not .076kg as initially indicated.

You had me doubting myself when it was Thai Post's figures, but obvioulsy just some confusion from the Post Office clerk.
