PRIME MINISTER SRETTHA Thavisin today (Dec.12) sidestepped an inquiry into the latest regulation of the Corrections Department which may have been allegedly practically issued for the sake of de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra.

 

The prime minister unreluctantly declined to respond to questions asked by reporters at Government House as to whether the department’s recently-issued regulation may have been designed to indefinitely extend Thaksin’s stay at Police Hospital for undisclosed “illnesses”, thus keeping him from being literally put behind bars at Bangkok Remand Prison.

 

The contentious regulation of the department under care of the Ministry of Justice provides for certain convicts to be “detained” outside of a prison for specific reasons which could possibly refer to residential lodgings.

 

The de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large has been admitted for the secrecy-shrouded “illnesses” in a tight-security, private ward at Police Hospital for nearly four months since he returned from self-exile abroad on Aug.22.

not only can you bribe your way out of serious crime but now you can also bribe your way out of jail time, how on earth the Thai people are putting up this is beyond comprehension, this country is rotten to the core and is getting worse

 

The people voted and the party that won was disabled through trumphed up allegations, now we have this lot who made deals with junta parties to get the votes to for a government

I bet he's back at home keeping out of sight.

How do you suggest 'the people' change it? They've tried street riots and blockades, burning down of buildings, mass rallies for weeks on end (none of which affected the economy, by the way). Now what? It's Thailand, it is what it is.

If I would want to keep my job, then I also wouldn't talk bad about my boss in public.

The deal went very high up, I think, so nothing can be done to change things. I expect that Thaksin is at home already. Someone should fly a drone over his house day and night to check. If he is at home, several heads will roll.

Both of them are billionaires and golf buddies so nothing will be done just wash it all under the table

Untouchable, it is Thailand. Nothing will change until they absolutely sell it all

to UN and WEF control and the digital currency comes. Then it will get even worse.

Come the next election the guy in hospital will be history as his party will be wiped out

I couldn't give a sheite about the whole situation, maybe find him a nice house in a barracks somewhere, I'm sure his neighbor would love to invite him round for dinner.

Why does it throw the whole justice system down the toilet? It is not as if he has killed anyone, dealt in drugs, consuming drugs other than medical drugs, drunk driving etc.

 

If he is anything at all, he is a white collar criminal. Assuming that the ankle bracelet works all it means is that he would be out on parole as many other white collar criminals are. The cost of his medical treatment would then be borne from his own funds, and in fact if that did happen, then the cost to the country would be much less.

I may be wrong but don’t developed countries have a provision for house arrest and electronic ankle bracelets?

who ?, this affects everyone who receives a custodial sentence from the courts, those with means can buy their freedom, if you don't see anything wrong with that then that is very troubling
