Air quality in Bangkok and vicinity slightly better today

Air quality in Bangkok and its vicinity has improved since yesterday, with only 17 areas reported to having excessive PM2.5 dust and the highest level recorded at 47.9μg (micron), compared to 73.8μg yesterday.

 

According to the Pollution Control Department, the levels of PM2.5 in and around Bangkok in the last 24 hours were between 13.3μg and 50.1μg and only 17 areas were found to have PM2.5 dust exceeding the threshold level of 37.5μg.

Misleading.

μis not micron(s). It is a measure of mass. Air particle concentration is not measured in mass units, it is measured as # of particles of whatever per unit volume. μm is the size of the particles in question, 2.5 microns and less being the most damaging.

As of 13:19 today, the AQI for BKK is 79. AQI measures 5 different indicators of pollution, not just PM2.5.
