The government is considering granting a 50-year concession to the winner of bidding for the one-trillion baht Land Bridge megaproject, which is expected to be profitable within 24 years. The minister of transport discussed the project with potential investors at a Thailand land bridge road show event in Tokyo.  

 

Twelve suspected members of an organised criminal gang were arrested during a police raid yesterday in connection with the fatal shooting of a student and a female teacher in the Klong Toey area of Bangkok on Nov 11. 


police believe the shooter and his partner, drove a motorcycle used at the shooting, were part of an 84 members crime network. 
200 officers were involved in the raid that resulted in the arrests and seizure of a hand gun, knives and other evidence.

 

Police have established a panel tasked with investigating the death of a 27 year old female student who fell to her death from her 6th floor apartment in the Chokchai Si area. of Bangkok.

 

Frightened by a drunk man who banged on her door at 4am, she climbed out of a window then fell to her death.


One man has been detained for questioning while the police panel reviews CCTV and other evidence.

 

The Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is due to visit Thailand in February to attend a joint Thai-Cambodian cabinet meeting that will discuss bilateral cooperation and cross-border trade.
