Bugging devices discovered in MCOT headquarters

Police have found listening devices concealed in the conference rooms of one of state-owned broadcasters, the Mass Communication Organisation of Thailand (MCOT), during a sweep of its headquarters today.

The rooms where the devices were discovered are used for MCOT board meetings.

Police, along with forensic officers, swept the sixth floor of the headquarters at the request of the MCOT. Officials working in the affected areas were removed and the floor has been cordoned off.

Sneaky sneaky... so who has access to these areas with enough time to plant and hide these devices?

Interesting.   I am curious why the police were looking for bugging devices and what equipment was used to locate the bugs.   I have F. G. Mason Engineering Mini Probe reciever equipment that was once used to locate bugs.   I think it is the MPR-5 Model.  Small, compact and can tune up to 10 Ghz.

Why request this operation?  Are the other floors bug free?

In 1993 I bought Optoelectronics R10 Interceptor https://www.optoelectronics.com/_files/ugd/c0ec7f_ca36b302072946729260e5f7c0b8010e.pdf

Still in a very good working condition with me over here in Thailand. Anyone interested to purchase? Contact by PM.

As stated in the full story, those found involved will be dismissed, so can you work that out? Or the cleaner could have been paid by someone outside.

And the question begs how did they know they were being bugged? Who did what in that boardroom?

I have a different model Optoelectronics that I bought over 30 years ago.   It still works.    I used it with a vhf/uhf receiver that connected to the Optoelectronics receiver.  When the Optolectronics device picked up a signal, it would tune the vhf/uhf receiver to the frequency and emission mode.  I used it when I was working for the U.S. of A. goverment.     It worked, but you have to be within about 100 feet or less for it to work.

I  had other equipment that I could use to determine frequencies at a much greater distance so stopped carrying it with me when working.

Yes, correct.

I also bought Optoelectronics Scout 30 years ago when I lived in Russia.

Unfortunately it was damaged by one of my colleagues at Division K

Get real.

Not sure what the issue is. They are the "Mass Communication Organization" after all.
