New digs ready for PM Srettha at Government House

A room on the second floor of the Thai Khu Fah building in the Government House compound has been renovated and refurnished, ready to serve as a residence for Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.

Srettha has not yet revealed the exact date of his move to the new domicile, only stating that it will be after January 7.

He indicated his intention to move to Government House shortly after taking office last year, citing a desire to alleviate the daily traffic congestion caused by his motorcade.

His personal residence is in the heart of Bangkok and traveling to and from it in a motorcade worsens the already heavy traffic, he explained.

Who did the "staging" for this photo? Lampshades in the wrong direction, (displayed differently in another photo); bed looks as though someone has just sat on it; a "throw" atop aptly named. Seems an unusual choice of room of his official residence to showcase.

Also, good choice to "live above the shop" and avoid worsening traffic by having a motorcade. How about improving traffic congestion whilst he at it?

Hardly a PR success.

So he doesn't like the traffic situation... so do something about it.

If I woke up in their (unlikely I know), my first reaction would be that I had been laid out in a particularly "up market" chapel of rest!

I still want to know where Prayuth is living now, is he still in the barracks? living rent free?

Not heard a word from the press. Has he summitted his bank details yet after leaving office that were due NOV 6 '23.

How many millions has that cost !!!

Shush - security, he is an important man on the Privy Council now.

Just rest assured that behind the scenes he is still there to ensure that Thailand is "still for the good people". No need now to whisper to toads, human or amphibians, and actually engage with the proles!

He has come up with a formula to ensure that despite elections and coalition politicking, those "born to rule" can continue to run the show.

Foolproof really, until you consider who the stars of the last ten years, who put it together are.

Surely you don't begrudge him a rent free gaffe, far from the madding crowd?
