During her trip to Thailand, the woman was electrocuted by power lines, blacked out, and then was quickly rushed to the hospital.

A US-based orthodontist and well-known influencer recently said that she is "so grateful to be here" after suffering an electric shock from downed power lines during her trip to Thailand last month. Taking to Instagram, Dr Cara Hodgson revealed she had spent the last ten days in the hospital.

She wrote that during her trip to Thailand, she was electrocuted by power lines, blacked out, and then was quickly rushed to the hospital. "In the blink of an eye it could all be taken away. Lucky to be here, 2024. Life is so precious. One second you have it, and the next second it can be taken away from you just like that," the doctor wrote in her post.

"I had a freak accident on my trip and was electrocuted by power lines and ended up blacking out and being rushed to the ER in Thailand. It's been the worst 10 days of my life - going in and out of hospitals fighting to regain my strength and fighting for my life. I am so lucky to be here today," she added.

Ms Hodgson, who has over 25,600 Instagram followers, didn't give specifics on what exactly happened, or how she got electrocuted. But she emphasized how she's "lucky to be here today". "What a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love...just being alive, being able to breathe, eat, talk, move your body, is something grand and something to be celebrated," she wrote.

Thailand killing tourists again.  If its not the balcony jumps or food poisonings it's the third world electricity.

First paragraph in bold does state: "suffering an electric shock from downed power lines" which does give a clue

"Omg!! Sending love and prayers and hoping for a speedy recovery,"

"So sorry for what happened! You are strong and so wonderful.. you'll get through this! Sending you big love and positive vibes,"

"You're such a fighter car and I'm so so grateful for it. love you and can't wait to make more memories together this year!!!"

"This must have been so scary! I admire your resilient and positive attitude. hoping for a speedy recovery and sending you hugs,"

Thus speaks the "so so" easily influenced.

No, but a lack of details and apparently 'PTSD' after a little shock leaving no physical evidence

When one hears anything happening to an "Influencer", the first thought that comes to mind is a staged incident, not saying this is one of them but when they go on to give no specifics of the alleged incident just her word it happened, it does throw some shade on it. Also, her saying in and out of the hospital means she wasn't hospitalized there for 10 days but the article would lead many to think that if they were paying attention.

duh. do you think an orthodontist needs a go fund me page. Probably drives a ferrari. Never seen a poor dentist

... Maybe she was too curious to check what are those open cables at base of many street  light poles..

Yep, especially on the USA?

Hope she fully recovers, but I wonder why the need to mention how many followers she has in Instagram, like what does that have to do with anything. I laugh at the term "influencer" too, they sure don't influence me.

While it's true she didn't go into massive detail (very possibly due to having blacked out when it happened) she did say how it happened - she said she was electrocuted by power lines. So that statement from the article isn't quite accurate.

Seems so full of herself on Instagram

Honestly given the state of the electricity supply (above ground), and the state of electrical systems inside homes installed by incompetent 'electricians', I am shocked (sic) that electrocution is not the number one cause of death in Thailand. I paid for mu house t n]be earthed.....it is not, if you open up any socket there is a green wire about one foot long, going nowhere. The 'electrician' saves some money and time I suppose.

"Miraculous resurrection from the dead" would have been a more appropriate story title.
