Thai woman shot with crossbow after saving neighbour from rape attempt

A Thai woman is seeking help and justice after a man shot her with a crossbow for saving her neighbour from his rape attempt in the central province of Sing Buri.

The shooting victim, Nittaya Thongpradit, travelled from Sing Buri to Bangkok yesterday, January 4, to seek assistance from the non-profit organisation Saimai Survive after the Kai Bangrachan Police Station delayed the case and left her living in fear.

The 43 year old woman explained that she received a phone call from a female neighbour on December 1 at about 2am that a man broke into her house and tried to rape her. She rushed to the neighbour’s home and managed to save her. Before the man fled, she recognized him as a local who lived nearby.

Two weeks elapsed, and on December 15, the suspect lurked outside Nittaya’s residence, challenging her to step out and confront him. Upon her refusal, the man forcibly broke down her front door and immediately assaulted her with a punch to the face and then shot her with a crossbow, with one arrow striking her forehead and another her cheek.

Yet another story about the Thai police doing NOTHING...

  • Popular Post

1)  Walk out there with a fold up table in front of you.  When he fires, wait for him to reload and crush his neck against the wall.  If you crush the windpipe he will drop after a few seconds.  Then lay across his body and hold him in an arm bar.  Then get someone else to call the cops.

2)  Throw stones at him so he is forced to take cover, then edge forward.

I prefer option 1 though.

Well at least she had the fortitude to intervene and did SOMETHING GOOD!…

I wonder if this will show up in the 80% increase in Chinese Baidu searches on Thailand?

"Ask Baidu:  If I visit Thailand, will I get raped or shot with a crossbow?"

Doesn't say if she/the neighbor went to the police after the rape attempt. If so, then the police not only failed to do anything about the second assault case, but also the rape case. Wonder if they are just lazy or whether the guy got some low level local connection.

A hallmark of Fascism is the degradation of women.

Police worldwide are known for their respect of women.

Nobody crosses William Tell and gets away with it. She is doing the right thing, some branches of the police only move when threatened with publicity or a lawyer, I imagine action will now be taken.

Classic

So that guy wants to play Medieval/Hundred years war  style with a cross bow alright....Well, let's give him that then...Multiple execution choices in those days : Beheading /  Hung, strung and quartered / impalement / Burning / crushing / boiled to death... etc...

The amount of whoopass thrashings these guys missed out on as kids definitely shows.

I'm a little prince, mummy says I am.

No mention of the woman's injuries. No details of the 'crossbow'

The shot to her forehead and shoulder caused no serious injury? Perhaps a child's toy utilising darts with plastic suckers on the tips?

The lady did the right thing and is to be commended which is more than I can say for writer of the report.
