Irish aircraft leasing company CDB Aviation is unleashing the power of two A330-300 aircraft into the hands of Thai Airways.

Scheduled for delivery in September and October this year, these A330-300 aircraft boast an impressive long-distance range of 6,350 nautical miles, positioning Thai Airways for unrivalled success, says the company.

Jie Chen, the mastermind behind the leasing deal and CEO of CDB Aviation, expressed the pivotal impact this move will have on Thai Airways.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Thai Airways to our growing Asian Pacific customer base.”

These widebody wonders are set to fortify Thai Airways’ foothold across key intra-Asian markets, offering the extra capacity required to meet the surging travel demand during high seasons, said Jie.

Irish firm?  Yes, they have an office in Dublin (as well as other cities around the globe) but CDB = China Development Bank.

Ireland is the leading country for tax benifits for aircraft leasing companies. Their office may only be a post box within a building but can save them a fortune in world wide tax

And Thailand New Zealand direct !

They've been dropping hints about 'new routes' on Australian social media. So maybe Perth and NZ will be back.

I just booked direct flights Perth to Bangkok with Jetstar for September school holidays. Less than $600 return. I think that it is on the new Airbus A321 Neo.

Prior to reorganization, Thai Airways had many A330s in its fleet, but decided to stop using them. What has changed?

Your point is? A very simple search shows CDB Aviation is incorperated in Ireland.

I wouldn't have thought they would have needed that many seats for Dublin - Bangkok!

Still, with a classic Hibernian name like "Jie Chen" he should know!

Have they run a credit check on Thai Airways?
