Does anyone have experience sending money from a bank in Bangkok via bank wire to Australia?

I need to reserve a booking for a dive trip and cannot get my bank in the U.S. to issue a bank wire unless I personally appear at one of their branches. This is not feasible.

What is your experience with bank wires from Bangkok? Is it safe? I am concerned about rip-offs.

Go to your Thai bank and have them make out a check to your booking agent. Send the check registered Thai mail. Easy and cheap.
