How To Get Marriage Visa?

Featured Replies

I'm thai and my husband is British. We want to get a non-o marriage visa. What papers do we need to give to the immigration officer and how much would that be?

He's got a non-o multiple visa at the moment and he can only do one more visa run.if he can't get a marriage one, what will happen?

cheers

You will have to prove to immigration a monthly income of 40,000 Baht between the two of you.

Take marriage certificate, your ID Card, bank books, your house book plus photos of the two of you in your house, outside your house and anything else that can show that you actually live together. You will both be interviewed.

If you cannot do this then he will have to go to a Thai Embassy outside of Thailand and get another Non Imm O Visa.

You will also need tax paperwork to prove the income and what you (he) receives from Immigration will be called a one year extension of stay. Copies will be required of everything and his passport/arrival cards will also be required with copies. Photo 4x6cm taken within six months is another requirement. Cost is 1,900 baht.

Hi lopburi3,

is this also applicable if you are currently on a multiple entry tourist visa? (just recently done the the marriage registration)

is it even possible to convert to a non-o marriage visa without having to leave the Kingdom?

thanks!

Yes. Should be done with 21 days remaining but frequent exceptions are made. Can even be done from a 30 day visa exempt entry. You have to meet requirements for extension of stay to use this method but only costs 2,000 baht.

You also have a 60 day extension of stay available to visit wife with no requirements, other than the marriage proof if you want to use it.
