US military to investigate 2022 loss of Sukhothai corvette vessel

The US-built Sukhothai Rattanakosin-class corvette vessel

 

The Navy is to let the US military to investigate the cause of the sinking of the US-built Sukhothai Rattanakosin-class corvette vessel in the seas off Prachuap Khiri Khan province in December of 2022, as requested by the Joint US Military Advisory Group Thailand (JUSMAGTHAI), Admiral Adung Phan-iam, commander-in-chief of the RTN, said today.

Pita warns Phuket may become a garbage hell if not addressed

Taking to the floor of parliament for the first time in six months, Move Forward party-list MP Pita Limjaroenrat talked about the garbage problems in Phuket and Samut Prakan provinces, with a stern warning that Phuket could be renamed one day by tourists as “a haven full of garbage” if the problem cannot be resolved quickly and effectively.

DPM Anutin Addresses Security Measures on Educational and Governmental Premises

BANGKOK (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, stated regarding every educational institution, agency, and local area, including Bangkok, that each place has its administrators and directors for management already in place. He emphasized that it is not the responsibility of personnel or administrative police to constantly monitor and protect these areas. In case of incidents, the police can be notified to proceed according to the law.

Whooping cough spreading among children in 3 southern provinces

New rail service linking Bangkok and Vientiane kicking off soon

The State Railway of Thailand will soon introduce a new service all the way between Bangkok and the Laotian capital Vientiane. Trials of the service will get underway next month, with the service expected to launch in April.

Pita unveils the Move Forward party’s strategic roadmap for 2024

Move Forward party’s advisory chairman Pita Limjaroenrat has today unveiled the party’s strategic roadmap for this year, which includes its six major agenda items, or “Big bangs”, the party’s performance in parliament and within the party, which can be measured using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the party’s push for the passage of 47 bills.
