On January 25th, 2024, Pol. Col. Jirawat Piampinseth, the Superintendent of Thanyaburi Police Station, publicly revealed the case of a British teacher who allegedly committed an indecent act to minors under the age of 13 at an international school in Thanyaburi, Pathum Thani.

According to a report by the police, the British teacher, publicly identified only as Mr. David, 59, allegedly lured minors under the age of 13 and committed indecent acts during lunch breaks. It was reported that at least four children were victims, said the police.

The story was revealed when one of the teachers in class heard students discuss David’s behaviors. The teacher then asked the students to explain what happened to them before reporting the story to the student’s guardians, according to the police.

One of the parents’ students stated that they recently heard the news that their daughter was one of the victims for at least 7 to 8 months. The victim reportedly told the parents that during lunch break, David lured the victim to a teacher’s room to commit the crimes, the police reported.

I recall when I was at school it was common for children to make up stories about teachers that they did not like.

He will be doing quite a bit of time for that and he won't like it once he gets inside, I bet.

I would tend to lean that it is likely true because it's more that just one student ...

This behavior is not limited to a certain nationality.  I'm an American. I take no joy in hearing that the accused is British. The United Kingdom has always been a loyal and steadfast friend to my country. I dont understand the constant nation bashing that goes on here. I wish the moderators/management would put a stop to it.

Just develop a little sense of humor, the person who wrote that is probably a Brit himself...

If he had touched one of my kids and made it to prison, there his life, or the very reduced quality of it would be a blessing for him, as I can guarantee you that I would do everything to stop that dog taking that journey, as predators like this have no place in society.

Teachers are supposed to be looked upon and keep kids safe, not lure them into rooms to use them for their own sick and perverted pleasure.

We taught our kids from young and repeat it all the time, they know that they are NEVER to be in a room with a teacher alone, or without at least 4 other kids at a time and if a teacher wants them to go to a room, they are to call us IMMEDIATELY, same applies to going to the toilet, i.e. has to be other kids there.

I don’t understand how someone could do that and not realise that they will eventually get caught? If it turns out he is guilty he deserves everything he gets.

Homburg are you in denial.

Do you condone this Dispicable behaviour.

I haven't read the whole thing but an old man with very young kids is disgusting.  In New Zealand the legal age of consent is 16 and most off Australia is 18.  To young to know what they want.

point well taken. when i was doing my education there are a few things i learned that i first scoffed at. i was told NEVER to have an interview with a student alone in a room with the door closed. this is one thing i have witnessed over and over in thailand... thai and foreign teachers fraternizing with students in ways that defy the ethos of teaching. as a teacher you must not only protect the students but also yourself.

maybe it was the fear of teachers and their sticks, or maybe it was the buddhist attitude towards teachers that has protected teachers against having accusations being made against them, but with today's teen mentality i am sure we are going to see more and more cases of misconduct against teachers just as we see in the west. being a teacher in the west today is a very difficult thing especially with things like the right to use any pronoun or to be any gender under the sun.

this guy apparently confessed to the crime and needs to face the music. but thailand not only needs a serious change in its curriculum and how it is delivered, but it specially needs changes in its teacher ethos. it truly is time that thailand wakes up and starts treating teaching as a serious trade and it is high time the teachers stop acting like clowns

Kudos to the teacher who overheard the children discussing the sexual abuse and took prompt action.
