BANGKOK, Feb 6 (TNA) – Airports of Thailand (AoT) is ready to accommodate tourists during the Chinese New Year period, with the number of airport users doubling compared to the previous Chinese New Year.

AoT president Kerati Kijmanawat revealed that the travel atmosphere at Suvarnabhumi Airport during this Chinese New Year festival has become bustling, with more passengers using the services compared to the same period last year, marking a 206% increase. This indicates that various government measures such as border reopening and free visas have led to the return of tourists.

No <deleted>, Sherlock!

All hail the Chinese travellers. Please, please, please come back to Thailand now and save us from destitution. Please...

5:00pm today BKK immigration was not bustling it was a traffic jam,all counters open still took an hour to get stamped in.

I would not dance a jig with all the rude chinks comming in.

Passenger surge.... more of a slight increase due to Chinese New Year, then back to normal.

Let's see what else he can do to better conditions at the airport other than taking photo opps and stating the obvious...

So no figures , just a 206% increase on last year. Which could mean an extra 10,000 or 10 million extra visitors.

Why do they try and boost numbers , is it to save their jobs ?

What actual local  businesses benefit from the Chinese, I can’t see the bars and restaurants overflowing with Chinese tourists ?
