Iran's U.N. envoy, Amir Saied Iravani, recently sat down for an interview with NBC News' Lester Holt, shedding light on Iran's stance regarding its alleged involvement with armed groups in the Middle East.

Contrary to accusations from the United States and other governments, Iravani adamantly stated that Iran is not orchestrating attacks carried out by "resistance" groups in Iraq, Yemen, and other regions. Specifically addressing the situation in Yemen, where Houthi militants have been accused of launching numerous drone and missile attacks, Iravani denied Iran's involvement in arming them. He emphasized that the Houthis possess their own arsenal and operate independently from Iranian directives.

Iravani characterized Iran's relationship with these groups as one of consultation rather than control, likening it to a "defense pact" akin to NATO. While Iran does provide support to Hamas and other Palestinian factions, he stressed that these groups retain autonomy in decision-making processes.

Regarding the Hamas attack on Israel in October, which resulted in significant casualties, Iravani vehemently denied Iran's involvement, attributing the decision solely to the Palestinians. Despite long-standing accusations of Iran's support for proxy groups across the region, Iravani maintained that Iran seeks to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and advocates for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

In response to threats from the U.S., Iravani expressed Iran's resilience, asserting that the country will not be intimidated by such rhetoric. Instead, he urged for cooperation and mutual respect as the way forward, emphasizing Iran's readiness to defend itself if necessary.

While Iran's alleged involvement with armed groups continues to be a contentious issue on the international stage, Iravani's remarks offer insights into Iran's perspective and its approach to regional dynamics.

The stupid mullahs are not stupid, at least not as stupid as Biden and they (the mullahs) know all too well how easy it is to play Biden. Thyey must be thankful to all the apprasement paymentsm lifting of US sanctions elevating Iran's recent financial status. Another example of a Biden failure, no different to his border invasion catastrophe and now his feigned virtue signaling towards border security trying to blame Trump along with iran appeasement for election /optics purposes only. Biden is the definition of a sad and feckless human being and an equally feckless and failed politician. Are Biden's voters aware or smart enough to see the implications and grievous situation that a Biden vote yields? LOL. Failure extraordinaire.

Well, in the case of the Gaza massacre, US sources affirmed they had strong intelligence that the Iranian govt was as surprised by the news. In the case of the Houthis, apart from their ideological motivation, it has given their popularity a boost. Their bad governance was doing them no favors with the citizens of Yemen. So they had motives of their own. These groups supported by Iran such as Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas have their own agendas. Insofar as it might serve what the mullahs perceive to be in Iran's interest, they won't interfere.
