BANGKOK, Feb 20 (TNA) – The Cabinet has approved to extend the visa waiver for Kazakhstani tourists for another six months, said Government Spokesperson, Chai Wacharonke.

Originally set to expire on February 29, 2024, it has been extended until August 31, 2024. This decision was made after it was found that in 2023, there were over 172,000 tourists from Kazakhstan traveling to Thailand, which marked a record high.

Makes for great travel planning.

Increased Tourism from Kazakhstani - a low-value decision with minimal impact on Thailand GDP.

Rather what about a high-value Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Kazakhstani that can increase Thailand's GDP?

Thailand can do substantially better.

EU trade with Kazakhstani:

  • In 2022, the EU's trade in goods with Kazakhstan totalled €40.2 billion, a 74% increase on 2021. EU exports were worth €10.4 billion, an 89% increase on 2021, and imports from Kazakhstan reached €29.8 billion (up 70% vs. 2021).
  • EU services exports to Kazakhstan stood at €1.5 billion in 2021, compared to €1.4 billion in 2020. Imports of services from Kazakhstan stood at €0.6 billion in 2021, vs. €0.5 billion in 2021.

He must have heard the good news.

Another new word to add to the dictionary - Kazakhstani.  Presumably this replaces the proper word Kazakh which those people had been using for centuries.

That's the way they do it in Thailand. Haven't you noticed?

Westernerstani not so popular these days; there are too many, they stay too long, and they come too often...
