Thailand’s Ministry of Culture will propose that the cabinet submit the Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom traditional costume (literally meaning “dress of royal endorsement”) for UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity listing.

Culture Minister Sermsak Pongpanich said that the Cultural Promotion Department will prepare all the details for submission to UNESCO by the end of March, so that the Thai proposal can be added to UNESCO’s meeting agenda.

The Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom costume was listed as a national cultural heritage last year.

It is good to keep things as a heritage, but in Thailand there nothing else than keep everything.... almost no progress is made

Everything must be Thai Thai Thai.... to stay in the past.. Ans although it is beautiful clothing, it are costumes for the rich and wealthy.. Ordinary Thai never had these
