I know this has been asked many times but where is a re-entry permit issued on leaving at Suvarnabhumi please? The Aseannow search engine is no help whatsoever in finding previous discussions of this.

Zone 2 left side of immigration ques.

You pass security and o tain reentry permit PRIOR to passport control.

They have a 200baht "service option" where they fill in form + photo etc.

When you enter the Passport Control room, do not proceed to the counters where the immigration officers are where you get stamped out.  Look to the left hand corner of that room and on the glass window is a sign that says "Re-entry Permits", go there.

You can get back to the re-entry permit desk if you are in the Fast Track lane, but in this case you do get stamped out first and then turn left on the main airside walkway (where the duty free shops are) to get to the desk. Tell the IO that you want a re-entry permit and you'll probably get escorted there (I did).

Unless the security queue is really long in the normal lanes, I'd use them even if you are entitle to Fast Track.

How much time does it take to get a permit?

Not long. Allow 30 minutes extra however waiting time most likely way less

I got my re-entry permit at Chaengwatana when I got my year extension but I checked this morning at Airport.

When I asked where the re-entry was, employees told me I had to go through passport control first. I then found the entry desk which can be accessed before or after passport conttol.

Immigration officer told me that Chaengwatana could be better. According to her, it may be crowed and I may have to choose between my flight and a re-entry permit.

I never used a re-enter permit before, how does one work, you apply they give you a stamp for a re-enter permit, you leave Thailand, and when return would they know automatically that you have a re-enter permit or you have to tell them you have it?

Reentry permit protects your current permission of stay.

Can be a Single reentry permit or multi.

Cost 1000 and 3800 respectively.

Can be obtained at immigration or airport on date of departure from Thailand.

Requires a TM8 form , a photo and basic photocopies from pp.

Good idea to point out the reentry permit.

The stamp is half page in size
