3 Months Or 1 Year In Vientiene

Featured Replies

As mentioned on another thread I'm going to attempt to extend my non-B based on marriage at Nong Khai immigration. If the worst comes to the worst and for some reason they won't do it (call me paranoid!) I'll head to the Vientiene Thai consulate to get a Non-O. Will Vientiene issue a years single entry Non-O with the correct paperwork or will they only give a single entry 3 month Non-O which I then have to extend in Thailand? Somebody told me a Non-O of any type is only available in your home country but I'd rather get the facts from this forum than listen to gossip.

Sorry that my posts are coming across as a bit naive but since I've been in LOS (10 years) my company have alaways sorted my paperwork out for me come renewal time. Seeing as I'm quitting my job now I'm having to do it myself.

Thanks a lot.

Believe single entry is all you will get in Vientiane. For multi try Penang, KL or Singapore but expect to be required to show 400k in a bank account.

Thanks Lopburi. I don't mind a single entry. It's then relatively easy to extend for a year in Thailand with the relevant paperwork isn't it?

(PS Do you ever sleep mate? You're always on here giving sound advice. Good work) :o

Yes, one you have the paperwork it is quite easy to extend each year - although a bit harder than retirement.
