A Move Forward Party MP Mr Wiroj yesterday accused the government of attempting to embezzle budget funds during the navy's purchase of a new frigate during a heated debate.. 


The so called  "change money" scandal, takes place when a buyer purchases a product at a pre-arranged, inflated price, and the difference between the actual price and the inflated one, is then returned to the buyer.


Mr Wiroj claimed  someone from the government  asked the Navy for the "change money" from the purchase of the frigate, but the request was denied. Adding, The navy's request for a budget to buy the new frigate this year was then rejected.


The Move Forward Party also accused the government of failing to stamp out call centre gangs operating on the other side of the Thai-Myanmar border. Claiming the Thai coalition has close ties with several powerful figures linked to casinos in Myanmar, which are also connected to gangs running call centers. 


The global price of diesel jumped by more than  2.7 dollars a barrel in a single day, Leading to concern that diesel prices here may have to rise above the Bt30 baht per litre ceiling, Agreed between the government and road hauliers.

 

A police lieutenant has been arrested on charges of assembling air rifles and selling them online. 


The 35 year old was apprehended when police raided his home in Nonthaburi, officers seized three high-pressure air rifles, 200 pellets, 150 scopes, and related equipment. 


A major fire broke out last night  at a recycling company in Ratchaburi , It took fire crews about 3 hours to extinguish the blaze using 20 fire trucks.

Taiwan, Rescue and recovery continues following Wenesdays deadly earthquake. A helicopter plucked six people to safety after being stranded in a mining area, and rescue workers reached 400 people by air who had been cut off in a hotel in a mountainous national park.
