Main use of the bulldog clip in Thailand seems to be by female students to keep the back of their belts from slipping, a situation easily solved by adding belt loops to their skirts. Thanks.

If I am reading the tag on box in my desk correctly, the term is คลิบดำ [khlip (high tone)-dum] or black bulldog clip; see for example, http://www.pvgroup.net/depart_stationary_equipment.php. "Khlip" is, of course, "clip", not to be confused with"ขลิบผม" [khlip (low tone)-phom], the ceremony where a monk gives a baby its first haircut.

The word คลิบ [khlip (high tone)] is also used for video clip as it appears on the internet.

Finally, there is กิ๊บ [kip (high tone)] which is the term for "hairpin" or "hair clip" also worn by girls.

Folks, are there others of a similar sound?
