Renowned action movie star Tony Jaa recently visited Wat Phai Lom in Nakhon Pathom province to seek blessings, inadvertently sparking a lottery craze among local villagers.

On a brief break from his international film projects, Tony visited the historic temple to pay respects to the revered Luang Phor Phu statue and engage in discussions about cultural preservation with the abbot, Phra Khru Palad Sittiwat (Luang Pi Namfon). His visit, just before the national lottery draw scheduled for today, drew significant local attention.

Tony's dedication to social good was evident as he planned to incorporate the temple’s cultural methods into his charitable work. However, it was his participation in an ancient Thai tradition—praying before the Kuman Thong statue—that truly captured the locals' imagination.

The Kuman Thong statue, believed to grant good fortune, was recently moved to a more accessible location for worshippers. Tony’s prayer ritual lasted over five minutes, during which locals eagerly observed, hoping to divine some of his good luck. At their request, Tony drew two incense sticks, revealing the numbers 881 and 664 as they burned.

These numbers prompted a rush among villagers to buy lottery tickets featuring the lucky digits, culminating in today's highly anticipated draw. The Kuman Thong statue is believed to bring prosperity, especially in real estate transactions, and recently contributed to a local land sale success story.

Tomorrow evening at 7.01pm, a grand blessing ceremony will be held, allowing worshippers to bring their own Kuman Thong statues to participate. This event underscores the enduring cultural significance of traditional customs and the seamless blend of local beliefs with international influence brought by figures like Tony Jaa.

This is why there will not be any casinos in Thailand, they simply can't manage their money.
