webfact
A high-speed chase in Sakon Nakhon turned fatal yesterday when a sedan collided with a parked truck, leading to the driver's death. The incident occurred near Ban Phang Kwang in Mueang District, just before a U-turn. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a severe collision involving a sedan, identified as a grey Suzuki, and a parked white truck. The driver of the sedan was 42-year-old Aruntip from Mueang District. She was found trapped behind the wheel with severe injuries. Despite rescue teams' best efforts to free and resuscitate her using hydraulic cutters, Aruntip succumbed to her injuries shortly after being extracted from the wreckage. Initial examinations at the scene confirmed she had no vital signs upon arrival. Witnesses recounted seeing the sedan involved in a high-speed chase with another vehicle from the town centre towards Ban Phang Kwang. About 120 meters before the crash site, the sedan grazed the car it was pursuing, Losing control, the sedan crossed the median strip and crashed into a parked truck, causing a fatal accident. The vehicle that was being chased sped away, and its driver has not been identified yet. Authorities are now focusing on a thorough investigation to uncover details of the high-speed chase. This includes reviewing CCTV footage to clearly identify the other car involved and piece together the events that led to the crash. The investigation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the tragic accident unfolded. In a related incident, another road mishap occurred when a drunk driver lost control of his pickup truck. The vehicle veered off the road, struck a streetlight, and eventually overturned into a median ditch. Emergency responders acted promptly to provide assistance. Efforts to promote safer driving and stricter enforcement of traffic laws continue in the wake of these tragic accidents. She might have been being chased by someone who was trying to kill or attack her.

Erm, but they don't do they..... Otherwise I wouldn't be seeing 50% of the motorcyclists on the road without a helmet or the daily occurrence of them riding against traffic... Would you not prefer to be the one driving so that you are the one in control of your own safety rather than placing your safety in the hands of someone with less training, less defensive driving skills etc ????
