Dear Forum

My Non Imm O (marriage) multiple entry will expire in one months time. I need a further 30 days extension to this and enquiring whether or not this will be granted by doing a visa run. Because I only need 30 days their is no need for me to visit my Immigration Office, unless neccessary. Or, would I need to return to my point of origin to apply for a new 1 year Non Imm O visa.

Kind regards Bruce

You can leave and return for a 30 day permitted to stay stamp (assuming you are from a country that can obtain 30 day visa exempt entry).

You can do a visa run and return on a 30 day visa exempt stamp..

But then your non imm O will have expired so if you are trying to get an extension (you say you only need 30 days.. Not if thats because your leaving and not returning or if your extending after that) later this will be a problem as you would no longer have a visa to extend..

You can also go to immigration and ask for a 30 day extension.. I think they will give a +30 day on a 90.

When you say your visa will expire in one month do you mean your current permitted to stay stamp or the actual visa as issued by the Consulate?

If your visa is still active you can leave anytime and return before it expires to receive a new 90 day permitted to stay stamp.

You can not obtain a 30 day extension of stay from Immigration on a non immigrant visa - but being married you also have an option to obtain a one time 60 day extension of stay to visit her from Immigration if you prefer.

Dear Postees

Thank you ever so much for all your useful information, I now have 2/3 options I can choose from. Its my visa that expires in one months time, and I will only need a extra 30 days then I will be leaving on business for four months. Upon which I will apply for another 1 year Non Imm O in my home country before returning to Thailand.

Kind regards Bruce
