The National Police Chief, Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol, has denied widespread speculations that he intends to retire before his mandatory retirement age in September. He stated that he is dedicated to his duties and is not planning to resign.

Gen Torsak Sukvimol and his deputy, Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, were reassigned to the Prime Minister's office on March 20. This decision was pending an investigation into their apparent disagreements. On the same day, Surachate was placed under investigation by the acting Police Chief, followed by an order to remove him from the force.

Although Torsak was reinstated as the National Police Chief last month, the Police Commission upheld the decision to remove Surachate from the force. Torsak has again said that he has no personal issues with Surachate.

More time to top up the pension plan, why bail out early.
