How many/what % of the 16,000+ injured died soon after, as a result of their accident?

Problem is dummies don't wear a helmet

Trying to move a covid conspiracy theory to deaths on Thai roads? Good luck. Actually there's a lot of dumb people out there that will fall for it.

Deaths on the road are only those that actually died at the scene of the accident. It does not count deaths of people involved in road accidents but die in hospital

Correct. Hence my question above about asking how many of the 16,000 injured died in hospital.

My Thai nephew has a helmet (expensive one,I took him to a professional shop and bought it for him).

The helmet lives full time in the dedicated cavity under the motorcycle seat.

When asked by anybody 'you have moganock, why don't you wear it', his response is 'never mind, I'll put it on when I'm going to have an accident'.

This response is popular, it's been shared on this site a hundred times.

Moral of the stats ... stay off motorcycles, or know how to drive defensively.  Oh yea, where a proper helmet & slow the hell down.

... not rocket science :coffee1:

And stay out of the way of MalcolmB on his journey be home.

76% motorcycles

Quite a few foreign DEATHS - about

All sorts of idiot teachers in BKK and tiktokers just have to have the convenience (and unnecessary cost) of a scooter. *Teaching* that business English in bang na is 'profitable' until you injure yourself OR someone injures you. Well, it was a good idea at the time 555

Thai government could easily ban rentals to farang and save themselves from themselves.

As for anyone living upcountry and it's complications - I won't be contributing to your GoFundMe.

since young in the west, most people know, MOTORBIKES = DONORBIKES

but this being thailand, probably verrrrrrrrrrrrrry difficult in the little brain to donate organs, even the person is braindead, well, pretty much was before, driving without any protection, except the amulet...

Just stay out of his way, period!

About 50 dead per day. Since many many years.

Good luck that Thais know about the problem and found solutions.

What does covid have to do with his comment?   I have read of people dying weeks, months, and over a year after being injured in vehicle wrecks.  The medical professionals attributing the death to the injuries sustained in the vehicle wrecks.   In some cases, people who were determined to be responsible for the vehicle wrecks, being charged with manslaughter (in the U.S. of A.) after the person died.
