“At 08:00, July 9, Pol. Lt. Col. Anucha Netjinda, duty officer at Bang Rakam Police Station, received a report of a motorcycle accident involving a fall into a borehole near Ban Huai Chan School, Tha Nang Ngam Subdistrict, Bang Rakam District, Phitsanulok Province. The police coordinated with the Prasat Boonsathan Rescue Foundation for an investigation.

The accident occurred near the entrance to Huai Chan Village, Moo 5, Tha Nang Ngam Subdistrict. At the scene, a blue Honda Dream motorcycle, was found fallen near the mouth of a borehole about 40 centimeters above the ground. Nearby, a single blue sandal was found.

Upon inspecting the borehole, which was 8-10 meters deep, another blue sandal was seen floating. Rescue workers, suspecting the driver had fallen into the borehole, sent a diver to search underwater. At a depth of about 4 meters, the body of Mr. Sanam (surname withheld), 72, was found with his head submerged at the bottom of the borehole.

Mr. Surin (surname withheld), the deceased’s nephew-in-law, who reported the incident, said he had planned with his uncle to take ducks to the field. The uncle rode his motorcycle, while the workers drove a motorised cart. When Mr. Surin arrived, he saw the motorcycle fallen and, upon investigation, realised his uncle had fallen into the borehole. Seeing the depth and amount of water, he quickly called for rescue assistance. Mr. Surin mentioned that his uncle was not a fast rider and was familiar with the route. That day, the uncle was also carrying duck eggs, which made him drive more carefully. The cause of the accident remains unclear.

The police have sent the body to Naresuan University Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death before releasing it to the family for traditional funeral rites.”

The question I would be asking is: 'How was he carrying these duck eggs and would it have impeded on his ability to control his motorcycle properly?' I do see some pretty dodgy acts on motorcycles by these rural types.
