The Thai government has not yet requested legal guidance from the Council of State about using money from the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) to partially fund a digital wallet program. This was confirmed by the Secretary-General of the Council, Pakorn Nilprapunt. Pakorn explained that the government does not need approval from the council to use the national budget for the program as it has the freedom to manage its budget.

Small earthquake causes tremors in Koh Samui, felt by local residents

A mild earthquake of 2.0 magnitude rattled Koh Samui, a popular tourist destination in Surat Thani, Thailand, late at night. According to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), the quake occurred at 12:14 am on July 10 at a shallow depth of 1 kilometer. The tremor was distinctly felt by locals in several regions including Bo Phut, Soi Talad Kao, Lamai, Maret, and Koh Samui.
