Suchata Chuangsri has won the title of Miss Universe Thailand 2024. The final competition took place at The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok on July 14. Suchata, who was representing Bangkok, beat 39 other participants and is set to represent Thailand at the Miss Universe 2024 contest due to be held in Mexico later this year.

A representative from a Thai travel agency used social media to accuse individuals claiming to be police officers of extorting 700,000 baht from Chinese tourists traveling to Pattaya on a motorway. The representative leaked a dashcam video showing men stopping the tourists' vehicle around 200 meters from a Pattaya toll booth at approximately 7:29 pm on July 10th.

EGAT Plans to Construct Environmentally Friendly Floating Solar Farm

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has joined forces with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Colorado State University (CSU) for a project exploring low-cost, easily recyclable Edge Sealed Modules (ESM) solar panels. They plan to install these panels on floating platforms in the Sirindhorn Dam reservoir, in Ubon Ratchathani province, to test their efficiency.

Chinese TikTok Star's Body Found in Chachoengsao After Going Missing

The Thai news has recently updated details regarding the case of Yan Ruimin, a 38-year-old Chinese student and popular TikTok personality. Yan went missing on July 2nd and a ransom demand of 1 million yuan (around 5 million baht) was made. A body thought to be Yan's was discovered on July 13th at 10:30 AM in a grassy spot in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

Mat Stained with Blood Examined in Missing Chinese Woman's Case

Thai Police have sent a blood-stained car floor mat for DNA testing as they continue their search for a missing Chinese woman. The mat was found in the boot of a rental car and is thought to be a vital element in the case of a woman's body dumped in a forest in Chachoengsao Province.

Today Marks the Start of Public Hearings for Koh Samui's Sea Bridge

The second round of public consultations about the proposal to build a sea bridge connecting the mainland to Koh Samui is set to start today (July 15) in Surat Thaini province. The bridge, which is proposed to start in Khanom district, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and end in Taling Ngam subdistrict on Koh Samui, includes a 25-kilometer stretch over the Gulf of Thailand.

Thai-German man jailed 25 years for abusing daughter, sharing child porn
