|True Fiber Optic - Does the speed matter?

True finally wired my building for fiber and I will upgrade from my 50/20 connection.  Does it really matter if I get the 500Mbps or the 1 gig?  All I care about is increasing the speed of my torrent downloads, but  is there a difference in how international pages load?  Thanks.  

 

Also, True throttles my torrent downloads pretty severely on the 50/20 plan, unless I use ExpressVPN then I get close to regular download speeds.  Do they throttle your fiber optic connection also?  I suspect it depends on the location.
