I got replies to both emails, one saying ring the telephone banking number, the other one more promising as it asked was I in a quiet room, did I type or speak the number. I did reply but that was late in the evening so probably close to closing time in the UK, I will wait until this evening again which will be after lunch in the UK and try your Skype suggestion. What is worrying is that they never mentioned any problems at their end which hints it's at my end. I've tried again this morning but the call doesn't arrive, just the waiting circle on my laptop. I did also send the screenshots of yesterdays attempt which shows I did input the correct 4 digit number. I've also made and received calls using my number to check the sim/phone is working ok. I may swap the sim to my old phone to to definitely eliminate any issue with my phone. -

Excellent point- equally maybe the 'tourist' saw the child had money and pulled the 'he stole my money scam' and the women fell for it. Guess we will never know. -

The Early Release of Thousands of Prisoners in UK Proves to be Very Unpopular
Is this some kind of "blame it on the Tories" thing? Is that really all you've got? It's Starmer's policy to release these people early. As stated he could easily free up spaces by releasing and deporting non UK citizens in the prison system. He could also release people jailed for hurty words on social media posts. Longer term he could stop sending billions in aid to foreign countries and build more prisons. Or stop illegals entering the country, some of whom commit crimes and end up in jail. That would have the added benefit of easing pressure on the NHS, schools, housing, public services etc. He'd have enough left to reverse his policy of removing pensioners winter fuel allowance. -

He is Right...It is scary
It has always been my intent to stay in Thailand until I am 67 and get the full UK pension (i've paid my 35 year dues). Then I'll sell my 2 bed Bucks old council house, move up north, and finance a 4 bed large house and garden and take the family home to the UK with the left overs. I say this as I really feel like I want a nice house to stay in for the rest of my life, just go shopping for food etc and stay in. The wife wants the same and is happy to stay in and just do the garden. I am totally sick of the world and what's going on, I'm sick of politicians, immigration, terrorism, islam migration, knife crime with no consequences. I do not like the world anymore, its not what I grew up with. Does it sound boring , yes to some, but I hate the world outside of my 4 walls ! -

I have been to soi 11 quite a bit and have seen loads of tourists who are black. I can see the difference between a tourist and a dealer having lived in the Amsterdam Red light area for a long time.
