A disagreement between two pairs from Myanmar resulted in the tragic death of a woman on Wednesday in the Bang Bir district of the Samut Prakan province. The deceased woman's partner was also grievously injured.

Officers from Khlong Dan Police Station responded to a call about a stabbing incident in Soi Rojanakun 3 on the night of July 24. They found the woman, Mi Mi Ae, lying lifelessly in the middle of the road outside the apartment building. She had multiple stab wounds and attempts to resuscitate her failed. Her boyfriend, Sein Pan, was severely hurt and rushed to the hospital; his condition remains unknown.

According to Win, their neighbor, the perpetrators were two local men, 29-year-old Ya Sa Kung and 27-year-old Ye Yin. A drunken Ya Sa Kung was arguing loudly with his wife which caused a disturbance. Sein Pan asked them to keep the noise down. This didn't sit well with Ya Sa Kung and another man who then turned their anger onto him. When Mi Mi Ae tried to help her boyfriend, she was repeatedly stabbed by the attackers.

Based on witness accounts, the two suspects fled to a neighboring alley. The police and rescuers looked for them for 30 minutes without success. They later used security camera footage to assist in their search.

The suspects were detained on July 25 as they stepped out of a taxi in the Tha Kham district of Bangkok. They claimed that the deceased woman had threatened Ye Yin with scissors, forcing them to use the scissors to stab her in self-defense. They added that they had previously had a disagreement with her and Sein Pan about unpaid utility bills, as the couple managed the apartment.

This is why Thais are so "kind and easy going", and generally don't get involved with anything that doesn't directly affect them.
