Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
The private super in pension phase is not taxable at all, this is valid for both income stream received and the earnings of the fund. I'm planning to start receiving super pension from July next year, and if the worldwide tax is implemented I'll get a hefty tax bill. The only sure way to avoid it is to stay less than 180 days in Thailand. In the DTA there is a breaker rule that if you are resident of both countries you pay tax where the income is generated, but I won't rely on the taxman in Nakhon Nowhere to interpret this properly. As it stands right now I'm a tax resident of both countries. -

How would you know it was me, even on the remote chance we were there at the same time? When will you grow out of such infantile behaviour? Share where these 'very good' stews can be found. We know they must be good value if you go there. OP asked about a slow cooker. If you have an option where you think he doesn't need it, but can go to a restaurant instead, reveal all. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
No....the Kia stuff/snapshot is from googling which took me to a Kia manual talking airbag deployment (but I know you are jesting). Regarding airbag deployment on an Atto back in mid August when I went to a nearby BYD Dealership to get some free charging/electrons I need to queue for about 15 minutes until a charger became available. The security guard let me park in their body shop maintenance shed just to get out of the sun until the charger freed-up....I got out and walked around a little to look at stuff such as damaged vehicles. In that body shop maintenance area there were 3 or 4 various BYD vehicles that had been in major accidents....I mean major damage or totaled. One of them was an Atto that had apparently been in a very serious collision and then also rolled the car from looking at the damage on the sides and trunk area. The damage was around twice as worst as shown in your earlier post...to include every window being shattered, left rear axle bent to a 45 degree angle, rear trunk area damaged, engine area damaged a LOT more than in your picture above. This vehicle had definitely been in a serious-serious accident....car was surely totaled. And the traction battery had "not" been damaged the best I could tell from looking at the underside and around the car. One thing that stood out to me was "all" airbags had deployed and the cabin integrity was not breached in any way....the driver and passengers definitely have good protection from the cabin being seriously crushed-in where shoulder/seat beats and airbags would provide little to no protection. Actually seeing that totaled Atto and how the cabin area remained intact, traction battery apparently undamaged, and all airbags having deployed gave me a good feeling that the Atto provides excellent driver/passenger protection in an accident. -

Otto SC-207 with 3.5 litre capacity and clay pot. The larger version has already been mentioned. Around 350 & 500 baht respectively. For two people, the smaller option is enough, unless you want to fill your freezer. -

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?
Again, nothing came directly from COVID. It was the response to COVID. What is a fairer percentage? So how much will you have to "tax the rich" to where they buy less milk, bread, eggs and gasoline? Really? Do you think the corporations are going to just take the hit and not pass the cost on to consumers? You seem like one of the few honest brokers here. Re-read what you posted and think about it. Pay down the debt, that's hilarious. And why do you assume tax revenues will go up with the increased rates? Do you really think that the lawyers working for the IRS are smarted than the lawyers working for the Fortune 500? The Trump tax cuts benefited about 95% of taxpayers, and after the Trump tax cuts, tax revenue went up. -

Asking people to cite sources in an internet argument such a pointless tactic for several reasons. Your motivation is basically sealioning just being awkward….– you want to disagree but don’t have an argument yourself. You are the kind who cherry-picks anyway, you choose sources and information that confirm their pre-existing beliefs (confirmation bias). Even if I provided a credible source, you would reject it because it doesn’t align with your worldview or because you only trust sources that align with your personal (anecdotal) views. People like you use the excuse that there’s a vast amount of misinformation online , to dismiss legitimate sources as biased or untrustworthy, especially if those sources are from mainstream media or a source the person distrusts or disagree with you. You will even bring up false equivalencies, and try to present unreliable or fringe sources as equally credible. You get emotionally charged with those who present information you are unfamiliar with or didn’t expect as you look on debate as like a football match – you think that “winning” the argument is a thing rather than in discovering the truth. Even if solid evidence is presented, you will only double down on their position rather than admit they are wrong. And a long trail of ridiculous arguments follows. On a thread like this and in depth academic discussion is not possible. People will often skim over detailed arguments, sources, or studies. So even when cited, sources may not be carefully read, or in your case, their conclusions might be deliberately misinterpreted to support your preconceived notions. You may or may not appreciate that properly citing sources requires time and effort, which I am unwilling to invest in a casual online conversation like this. As it his leads to a shallow exchange of information, with yourself unwilling to engage deeply with the evidence presented. Basically you are attempting to engage in a "bad faith" argument, where you aren’t genuinely seeking truth or understanding but are instead aiming to troll, provoke, or distract – (i.e. Sealioning). In these cases, citing sources does little to advance the conversation. In summary, while citing sources can be useful in scholarly or serious discussions, with you, it is not the case - it just won’t translate well into a coherent argument as it would be clouded by your emotional investment, biases, and lack of genuine engagement undermine the effectiveness of this tactic or even understanding how to truly use citations. -

Lao borders (some at least) now requiring overnight stay?
I have a Multi Entry Non Immigrant O visa and just used the Chiang Saen crossing to get another 90 days. First I was told by Thai Immigration that I had to spend the night in Laos but then he saw my visa. With the visa I didn’t have to spend time in Laos, just got stamped in, stamped out and back to Thailand for another 90 days. As I was leaving I saw some guy without a visa and he told me they were going to require him to spend the night there so he didn’t go. Boat to Laos is 70 baht each way. The boats need to have 3 or 4 people before they leave and it might take a while now as fewer people are doing their runs here, and if you’re waiting for a boat and another boat drops off passengers but you’re the only one waiting for a boat they will leave empty. Lao visa is $40 US or 2000 baht, and they want crisp bills and they will reject old looking USD. Lastly, Thai immigration is really good up there.
