A breakdown in communications networks in central and southern Gaza has cut many Palestinians off from the outside world for the past week, further straining aid efforts and emergency services amid continuing Israeli bombardment.

Israeli strikes damaged a main connection, cutting off communications in large areas of the strip since Tuesday, according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, based in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

The telecom company Paltel said Friday that internet and landline services were restored in some areas in southern Gaza, including Khan Younis, with repairs ongoing in other southern and central areas.

It’s a war and as your link says some have been repaired and they are fixing the other. Jeez.

Hamas started this and can finish it today or months ago by releasing hostages and laying down arms.

The European Union (EU) has pointed fingers directly at Hamas for turning Gaza's civilians into human shields whilst demanding Israel halt its military operations immediately.

The blunt accusations emerged from emergency talks in Brussels on Monday, where 27 EU nations finally agreed on something regarding the Middle East crisis—both sides are making ordinary Palestinians pay the price.

In a strongly-worded statement, the European Council condemned Hamas for refusing to release remaining hostages and exploiting Gaza's 2.3 million residents as cover during Israeli military operations. The intervention marks Europe's most decisive stance since fighting erupted following the 7th October 2023 attacks.

A high-ranking representative of Benjamin Netanyahu's Israeli government has voiced unusually strong criticism of the conduct of the Gaza war.

Moshe Gafni, leader of one of the ultra-Orthodox parties in the governing coalition, said in a parliamentary committee meeting in Jerusalem on Wednesday that he does not understand what Israel is fighting for in the Gaza Strip: "I don't understand the purpose."

Gafni is the leader of the Degel HaTorah (Banner of the Torah) party, which is part of the United Torah Judaism alliance.

The Israeli military said on Wednesday that the seven soldiers died "during combat in the southern Gaza Strip," while another was injured.

Mediator: Ceasefire-hostage deal between Israel and Hamas possible ‘within days’

A Palestinian-American political activist who has been mediating between the Trump administration and Hamas said Tuesday that it was possible to reach a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal “within days.”

Bishara Bahbah, who is mediating alongside Egypt and Qatar, said in an interview with the Jordanian Al Ghad TV channel that he was optimistic about the chances for a deal following the ceasefire struck hours earlier between Israel and Iran, arguing that it put Gaza back atop the regional agenda.

There's at least a possibility his efforts could be successful.  "Bishara Bahbah is a Palestinian-American activist and academic whose position in facilitating talks between the Trump administration and Hamas was first revealed earlier this month by the Times of Israel, following discussions that led to the release of dual U.S.-Israeli national Edan Alexander from Gaza."      https://www.newsweek.com/bishara-bahbah-trump-witkoff-israel-gaza-hamas-2077594

I wonder if Hamas regard Bahbah as a black sheep since he  founded a group called "Arab Americans for Trump."

This is a major sign of Hamas’s continued loss of power. And before the anti-Israel crowd and newly created military "Xperts" start shouting, no, this is not about handing Gaza over to some clan or criminal gang. The Gaza Strip can still be demilitarized and deradicalized later. But step one is clear: defeat and remove Hamas from both military and political power.

At least 81 Palestinians have been killed and more than 400 injured in Israeli strikes across Gaza in the 24 hours until midday on Saturday, the Hamas-run health ministry said.

In one incident, at least 11 people, including children, were killed after a strike near a stadium in Gaza City, Al-Shifa hospital staff and witnesses told news agencies.

Ah another Hamas said. Have they said when they will release the hostages unconditionally yet? In the meantime another of their top officials meets 72 virgins in the sky.

ELIMINATED: eliminated Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa—one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing.

Issa led Hamas’ force build-up, training, and planned the October 7 massacre. As Head of Combat Support, he advanced aerial & naval attacks against Israelis.

Israel has carried out a wave of air strikes across the Gaza Strip, triggering the mass displacement of hundreds of Palestinian families, witnesses say.

Rescue teams recovered the bodies of five people, while dozens of injured civilians were evacuated to Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, according to local reports.

The bombardment follows one of the largest evacuation orders issued since the war resumed in March.

Hamas still using human shields then. Massive air strikes by the IDF but only  5 alleged deaths. Must be very targeted strikes being carried out. They should all have left as instructed.

"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had earlier ordered residents to leave large parts of northern Gaza, in anticipation of the attacks. Most of those displaced overnight moved westwards within Gaza City rather than to the southern region as instructed by the IDF."

Hamas tortured Israeli hostage to death after misinterpreting eagle tattoo, brother says

A hostage was tortured to death by Hamas because they thought he was an Israeli pilot due to his eagle tattoo, his grieving brother told lawmakers Monday.

Speaking before Knesset about the death of Itzik Elgarat, Dani Elgarat revealed that Hamas kidnapped his brother on Oct. 7, 2023, when they spotted an eagle tattoo on his arm and mistook the 68-year-old for a military pilot, the Times of Israel reported.

“They took him for interrogation and he never came back,” Dani told lawmakers. “…He suffered a heart attack during interrogation under torture.”

If the first casualty of war is truth, distraction is a second danger. The war between Israel and Iran has distracted attention from the continuing Israeli slaughter of civilians in Gaza.

The health ministry there says the confirmed total death toll since the appalling Hamas attacks on Israel in October 2023 has now risen to more than 56,500, with over 133,000 people wounded.

Yesterday the Israeli air force launched further air strikes in Gaza, where dozens were reported dead and injured. Israel had ordered civilians to leave areas, but in Gaza’s rubble-strewn wasteland they had nowhere safe to go.

The Israeli military used a 500lb (230kg) bomb – a powerful and indiscriminate weapon that generates a massive blast wave and scatters shrapnel over a wide area – when it attacked a target in a crowded beachfront cafe in Gaza on Monday, evidence seen by the Guardian has revealed.

Experts in international law said the use of such a munition despite the known presence of many unprotected civilians, including children, women and elderly people, was almost certainly unlawful and may constitute a war crime.

Fragments of the weapon from the ruins of al-Baqa cafe photographed by the Guardian have been identified by ordnance experts as parts of an MK-82 general purpose 230kg bomb, a US-made staple of many bombing campaigns in recent decades.

The information could not be independently verified. The Israeli military did not immediately comment.

The above deaths are all according to Hamas, the same terrorists who are actively holding hostages and not agreeing to a ceasefire. Its almost like they are using Gazans as their personal sacrifice human shields eh.

Meanwhile the IDF 36th Division reported dozens of terrorist operatives killed and hundreds of targets destroyed in recent days, including 140 terror targets over the previous 24 hours. As well as dismantling a tunnel network stretching three kilometers  that was used by terror operatives in Khan Younis.

Of course when you report these deaths, Hamas will claim it was the local Palestinian civilians indiscriminately killed.

The director of Gaza's Indonesian Hospital has been killed in an Israeli air strike on his home in Gaza City along with several family members, the Hamas-run health ministry has said.

The ministry said Dr Marwan Sultan had a long career in medicine, and condemned "this heinous crime against our medical cadres".

Should Hamas stop the slaughter that it is causing? Or do they prefer to keep and execute the hostages? There is a ceasefire deal on the table right now.

“You choose who dies next.”

That’s what a Hamas terrorist told Israeli hostage Ohad Ben Ami—forcing him to pick which of his fellow captives would be executed.

The more we learn about the barbaric cruelty the hostages in Gaza have endured, the more clearly we see the true face of evil.

The world cannot look away. It must stand with Israel against this horror—and act with urgency, resolve, and moral clarity.

Fifty hostages are still being held in cruel captivity in a continuing crime against humanity.

Bring them all home. Every last one.
