U.S. Topic -- Clarification sought about starting Medicare Part B upon repatriation
Medicare advantage REPLACES B. As you're talking about initial signup at anytime when you turn 65, it make sense that during that exemption time period (open enrollment not needed) you could somehow enroll in Advantage at that time. I don't know how. But I didn't see that as your question. Your question seemed to be that you already signed up for A and B during initial exemption period and then wanted Advantage. People can only change programs during the open enrollment period unless under an exemption. -

Kamala Harris’ Contradictions: A Campaign Without Conviction
A campaign without conviction. As against her opponent who will soon have multiple convictions. -

Reduce taxation by gifting.
You clearly missed the point that a minor can sign a contract, with the consent if a legal guardian. That rather upsets your argument doesn’t it? -

I predict this part will not happen. It would drive out everyone but pensioners, who are protected by double-tax treaties, in the case of most. -

Air conditioner is dripping water, is that normal?
If the unit is not on the ground there should be special pipe that connects to the condensation outlet and allows droplets to silently flow to the ground. In Thailand almost all ACs have it. In Russia almost none(illegally, owners don't care) and in multi-story buildings it creates hell in June-August, as water drips from 5 - 6 - 8 - 10 -12th floor down to the ground or into your balcony or window sill depending on the wind making loud thumps. I don't see that pipe on your photo. -

Right. So if you declare your money transfers as a credit, then it isn't taxable. -

But remittances from overseas should be easily monitored, and TRD won't care how the money was earned. In that world where Thai tax laws are enforced. -

Reduce taxation by gifting.
You really don’t understand the law or the detail if a gift contract, the contract makes the gift Sin Suan Tua which Is property acquired by either spouse during marriage through a will or gift, just voiding the contract doesn’t magically make it Sin Somros and the contract is a onetime thing so denying it after the fact has no meaning. It is not a continuing contract. If either party wants to void it then they just don’t sign it and nothing changes hands, no gift is given or received. -

Great. When the bar girl files her Thai tax return, she can indicate she received big money as a gift. Oh, wait. She never filed, despite TRD allegedly having access to all overseas remittances. Unless you are aware of bar girls filing taxes. Editorial note: for some reason we get a lot of comments in the Thai tax topics that are disconnected from the real world, particularly about TRD auditing capabilities. Thailand can't enforce helmet laws for motorcycles, let alone complicated tax laws. -

Restore lost Yellow Book
Pink ID has been lost too. I think I'll go tomorrow to the nearest amphoe first in Phuket Town, the police station is also nearby where I'll request a report. And if the situation looks favorable as in no need for other people to be involved, then I'll go to Thalang where YB was issued with police report, passport and old copy in hand. For a new YB the owner is a lovely Brit with Thai wife, I'm 90% sure they will help. -

Yes, in Europe this applies to professional sex workers who also have social insurance and can also deduct the costs of their profession, such as room rent, advertisements and lubricants, from their tax burden. But Thailand is not yet ready with legalization. Prostitution is still banned in Thailand and the activities are not recognized as professional job. Due to morale, it will probably take decades for Thailand to get there. That the TRD will put tax on illigal activities will not happen. -

Recommendations of a quality Slow Cooker
If you were cooking a batch of 4 average size portions you would only require 1 Oxo cube. The Thai Knorr stock cubes are considerably cheaper (any meat or veg flavour) and perfectly adequate. Add a bit of additional seasoning (not too much salt as stock cubes are naturally salty) ground pepper, mixed herbs etc. You can crumble/dissolve the stock cube into whatever liquid you will be adding to the pot. As you mentioned in a previous post, chicken or pork will work fine. You are better off with a slightly fatty cut of meat ie. chicken thighs or pork shoulder etc (as opposed to chicken breast or pork loin) as the leaner cuts can dry out during the cooking. Always best to brown the meat off first for added flavour. If you want a thicker gravy/sauce either dust the meat in plain flour before browning. Or just sprinkle a spoonful of flour over the meat and veggies before cooking, add the stock and give it all a stir.
