On August 16, Pattaya police were alerted to a foreign man threatening to jump from a luxury condo in Soi Chaiyapruek 3, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Pattaya Police, along with Pattaya Tourist Police and the Chonburi Immigration Police, rushed to the scene.

The incident took place at Building B of an 8-story condo. The man, a Russian national aged 30-35, was spotted pacing anxiously on the 6th-floor balcony. Emergency responders deployed a giant air cushion on the ground as a precaution. Officers spent three hours trying to calm him down, but negotiations ultimately failed.

Suddenly, the man became agitated again. Taking advantage of a brief distraction, he climbed over the balcony railing and leaped. He struck the air cushion before landing in the pool below. Rescue teams quickly retrieved him and provided first aid. He suffered serious injuries, including neck trauma, a torn lip, broken teeth, and multiple lacerations across his body, including deep cuts on his wrists. He was rushed to Bang Lamung Hospital for treatment.

A condo maid, reported that the previous night, around 21.00, the man was seen sitting outside a convenience store, about 500 metres from the condo, with visible cuts on his wrists. The next morning, someone brought the man, back to his 6th-floor room to treat his wounds out of pity.

Around 08:30, the man became agitated, shouting, "I want to die," before threatening to jump from the balcony. Condo staff immediately contacted the police, who arrived to negotiate, but the tragedy still unfolded.

Reports indicate that this casualty was previously involved in a highly publicised case on August 13, 2023, where he was suspected of throwing his Russian girlfriend off a 7th-floor condo balcony in Najomtien, Sattahip District, resulting in her death. This current incident occurred just one year and three days after that fatal event.

Police are waiting for the man to recover before conducting a full investigation to determine the true cause of the incident.
