On August 18, at 09:00, police received a report of a horrifying shooting in Rayong. The incident took place within the 89 Villa housing estate, Moo 1, Phe Subdistrict, Mueang District. Lt. Col. Khajornsak Somabut of Phe Police Station was informed of the crime and immediately coordinated with Police Chief Col. Preedipawat Chaipetchrothin, medical staff from Rayong Hospital, and forensic officers to investigate the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a white Toyota Yaris parked with the engine running in front of a single-story townhouse. On the ground, they found the body of a woman lying face down in a pool of blood near the driver’s side door. A terrified 2-year-old girl was found crying in the front passenger seat.

Authorities quickly rescued the child. Examination of the vehicle revealed multiple bullet holes in the driver’s door and window, with the victim having been shot in both the head and torso. After collecting evidence, the body was transported to Rayong Hospital for further examination.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Ms. Mae (alias), who worked at a pier serving ferries to Koh Samet. The child is her daughter.

Eyewitness Mr. Suvichak, 55, reported seeing the gunman in a silver Nissan March, which had followed the victim's car to her home. The shooter exited the vehicle, approached the driver’s side, and fired multiple shots at close range before fleeing in the same vehicle.

According to those close to the victim, she had been separated from her former husband for some time and was living with her two children. She had previously reported an altercation with a coworker, resulting in legal action.

Initial police investigations have revealed CCTV footage (pictured below) showing the gunman's car fleeing toward Wat Nai Rai. Authorities are currently reviewing the vehicle's registration and are working to locate the suspect, who is believed to be hiding in the area.

Investigators are pursuing two primary motives: a workplace dispute or a connection to the victim’s ex-husband.

Man Fatally Shoots Girlfriend’s Friend While Pleading for Her to Return Home, Then Flees with Her

A man attempting to reconcile with his girlfriend ended up shooting her friend dead while she sat in a car with her toddler. After firing the fatal shots, he fled the scene with his girlfriend.

An eyewitness, who was standing just 10 metres from the scene, recounted the terrifying moment. He heard two gunshots and immediately took cover behind a nearby vehicle. After the shooting, the gunman fled in a silver Nissan March with his girlfriend. Only later did Suvichak realise that a woman had been killed and that her child was in the car, though unharmed.

Police have identified the getaway vehicle as a silver Nissan March with partially concealed license plates. It was last seen heading toward Wat Nai Rai, and authorities are currently tracing its route to capture the suspect. The weapon used is believed to be a revolver. Investigators are questioning coworkers and those close to the victim to uncover the motive and locate the shooter.

The gunman has been identified as Aim (real name withheld), approximately in his 30s, the boyfriend of Kikk (real name withheld). Kikk had been staying with the victim, her coworker, after a fallout with Aim. It was reported that Kikk wanted to end the relationship.

According to another witness Fai, 36, who saw the incident unfold, Kikk had taken refuge at the victim's home following an argument with Aim, who was trying to persuade her to return home. On the morning of the incident, the couple argued by the roadside. Kikk ran to the victim for help, and the victim tried to mediate, asking the couple to calm down. However, Aim pulled out a gun, shot the victim, and fled the scene with Kikk.

Ex-Monk Shoots Two Women Dead, Including Girlfriend, in Rayong; Surrenders to Police and Confesses

A former monk fatally shot two women, including his girlfriend, in Rayong, before surrendering to the police and confessing to the crimes. The first victim was shot in her car in front of her child, while the second was abducted and later found dead on a secluded road.

The incident began in the early morning when a 30-year-old woman, was shot in her car while her young child sat crying in the back seat. After the initial shots, he demanded another woman in the car, dressed in black, to come out. When she resisted, he fired three more rounds and forcibly dragged her into his car, shouting angrily, “Get out here!” He then fled the scene with her.

Hours later, at around noon, police discovered the body of the abducted woman, identified as 29-year-old Praewmanee, also known as Kikk, in a secluded alley near Wat Sri Waropas in Klaeng, Rayong. Her body was found in the backseat of a gold Toyota with injuries to her head, hands, and legs, suggesting she had been dragged before being shot.

The suspect, identified as Aim (real name withheld), later turned himself in to the police. He confessed to killing both women out of rage. Aim revealed that he was angry with girlfriend for distancing herself from him and blamed the first victim for encouraging the breakup.

Aim used a .38 caliber revolver in both killings. He admitted that his anger escalated after learning that his girlfriend had filed a complaint against him for abuse. Aim had been ordained as a monk before the Buddhist Lent at a temple in Klaeng, Rayong. After committing the crime, he was taken by police to formally disrobe and now faces legal proceedings.

The police are continuing their investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
