So why do you use cannabis ?

Featured Replies

So there I am sitting around a table at a local bar with other expats at our weekly get together .

I noticed that several of the other expats were puffing away at electronic cigarettes  , when I asked had they stopped smoking real tobacco cigarettes , every one puffing away at their electronic cigarettes smiled and said that their electronic cigarettes were filled with cannabis.

Now Ive never used cannabis , so I asked what using their cannabis filled electronic cigarettes did for them . The majority said that using their electronic cigarettes filled with cannabis , made them feel happy and in some cases relived anxiety and stress.

So that got me wondering .

So what is the reason you use cannabis , is it to make you feel more happy or help you relax or reduce anxiety and possible stress related situations. Or do you use cannabis for a medical issue or some other reason .

I think they covered, relaxing, stress reliever, and or possible pain relief.   May make you more receptive or enjoy music, or a comedy or sci fi movie.  I'll burn one if getting ready to watch sci fi some times, or ding dong comedy.  Sadly doesn't help the new crap they're putting out.

Days past, great to relax and have sex while stoned, and always seemed a bit better, whether imagined or not, worked for me.   Definitely helps women relax, well, the like minded ones I enjoyed.

I use it to remove my arthritis, my finger joints hurt every day and after 2 years had swollen to the point I could no longer wear a wedding ring. After 3 months of cannabis use the pain and the swelling had totally gone, 3 years later still no signs of the problem returning.

0.5gm of mainly Indica hybrid smoked every evening before bed.

As a free bonus, I fall asleep instantly every night.

I think the stuff is great.. but...

I never enjoyed smoking it, even back at Uni...  (where I also found it made me lazy too to stopped it quite quickly)...

I shared some (a joint) on a live aboard dive boat a while back and enjoyed it...

I shared (a joint) on a beach with friends recently, but was already drunk, hated it and chundered...

Then... I had some sports injuries this year (one of them quite significant) and didn't want to be dependent on the strong painkillers I was given, so wanted to mix things up a bit....

Thus:

- I tried Krathom - which worked for pain-relief and if taking a little more also gave me an enjoyable buzz - Quite enjoyed that, but its an opiate, so we have to be careful regarding dependency (addiction - so wouldn't take it more than 3 days in a row and haven't taken this for months now as I no longer need the pain relief - Ibuprofen is now sufficient).

- I also tried Marijuana Gummies - which also worked well for pain-relief (or was enough to stop me giving a fluck about the pain) and gave me an enjoyable buzz, but also it also had the tendency to 'mong me out a little' in social situations (dinner with friends etc) which isn't great when the mind needs to be a little sharper to converse and quip (i'd find myself loosing track !!).

The Marijuana gummy's work well for a good night sleep - Also, they quieten the mind - by that, I mean after taking gummy before sleep as we enter the 'between the awake and sleep phase' where the mind can often drift and we start worrying about a multitude of things at once which sometimes prevents us from falling into a deep sleep and can impact mental health - the gummy aids with a deeper sleep.

Then there are also sleeping tablets (benzo's) which I have a supply of and taken when I feel I need a solid nights sleep (i.e. getting over jet-lag etc).

The issue with any of the above is to be mentally strict with it - not to take any repeatedly and allow them to become habitual...  but take them irregularly, when you feel the need pain relief, sleep, or to just chill.

I smoke to forget. Can't remember what so it must be working.

It's funny that someone would ask this question while they're at a bar drinking. Maybe think of why you drink and that will be the answer to your question.

I know exactly why I smoke weed, but after a few bong hits I can't remember and don't care 🙄

2 different drugs used for the same result, except one isn't physically addicting.   Nobody wakes up in the morning and has the shakes, if they don't smoke a doobie :coffee1:

I'm in the US for over a month now and here you can get a vape loaded with THC for $23.00  Very convenient, one hit is good enough for a mild buzz. Makes sleeping so easy. Be nice to have access to a THC vape in Thailand.

Any photos?

I like all drugs because they are fun and social. Had lots of nearly all, always up for it.

Except fentanyl and that other one popular with the Thais, can’t remember what it is called, neither of which I have ever tried.

Ice, heroin, opium, speed, ectasy, cocaine when with different friend and situations.

But mushrooms (none of this micro dose) LSD and weed are my favorites all washed down with cold beers and tequila if available

so having mushrooms and weed readily available since moving here a few months back has been a big plus.

somebody gave us 6 grams the other week, smoked half but not bothered with the rest, and it's pretty good quality. 50 years ago it would have been gone in a few days. These days I prefer tramadol and single malt

Thats interesting , when I go to sleep at night time , my mind always seems to be in 1st gear and racing away thinking about so many things and it makes getting off to sleep very difficult   After seeing this comment that cannabis can be helpful for sleep , I'm now wondering if there's any cannabis type product that I can take , to help me get a better nights sleep . I have never smoked cigarettes ,

Any thoughts , suggestions or recommendations Please.

I smoke cannabis – Sativa – in mindfully measured micro-doses in order to encourage Exercise and thus restore my health.

I am 74 years old, and aging tends to make one chronically achy, fatigued, and lazy.  I  have long suffered from Fibromyalgia and, more recently, from crippling Sciatica pain from lumbar disc herniations.  (I refuse to take narcotic pain-killers, since they tend to be addictive and dumbing.)

But a micro-dose of two tokes of good, strong THC Sativa, and it makes me Move, to get off my lazy butt and work out.  The Tai Chi sessions immediately after are unparalleled for mindfully exploring all my aged muscles-joints' sore spots, working them out carefully and comprehensively.  The follow-up stretching, yoga and mild calisthenics get me ready to move out – primarily long marches and stair climbing, often with hand weights.  Excelsior!

Thank you, Thailand, for allowing me to use this fine Medicine.

Cheese on toast is probably easiest.

Cook your toast, put the grated cheese on top, sprinkle 0.5gm of high THC indica cannabis, and grill as slowly as you can. Takes 30-45 mins after eating for the effect to work.

I do mine with pizza, totally knocks me out.

what ?

because we can ... 😎

I don't bother with the stuff.

I find after quitting alcohol, which I do every year for 3 or 4 months, (sometimes longer) that after a week, I sleep very well, without any need for stimulants.

Used to smoke occasionally when younger. A gentle way to relax, and eased the pain of sports injuries.
