That is one of the negatives of being raised in a country where one is taught to be expressive of your thoughts and opinons.  It was mild before social media but it is now out of control.   In short Americans are not so compliant and many times defiant. It's just the way we have been shaped.

The ability to express yourself without government interference is a feature.

Most media is left wing.

This comment opens your  brain.

People with a brain bigger than a nut, are able to judge about the content of meadia-aricles by themselves. It doesn't matter, if left or right wing  medias! It needs only a little bit of thinking, healthy  and logical thinking, not in fluenced by advertising! And that seems to be a problem for many US-people.

The US is a divided nation, driven a lot by dodgy politicians and fake news left wing media outlets. The latter proven by the fact many on the left still fall for the big lie, started by the divider in chief, Obama.

Is this a Color thing

Partially, the problem lies with the poor education system and lack of factual information in the public domain.

I had dinner with an old American woman a few years ago. She told me she really hated Obamacare as it was created by that horrible black guy.

However, she really liked the Affordable Care Act.

I call BS on this.

Most don't know. The talking heads and articles are slanted.

Mussolini was left wing until he was 50 or so, then he went hard right. This is well documented.

He became a capitalist and founded IBM? :cheesy:

One reason I won't move back. Sucks.

Says the spokes person from the Party that has been calling half the Nation racists for the last 10 years. You’re literally being decisive here calling the other side divisive. You’re the CNN reporter calling the protest mostly peaceful while the town is burning down in the background!

IMO Americans are divided because they are paranoid. About socialism, about being invaded, about their minority groups.

We have had socialism on and off in Australia since Federation. Thanks to it, we have a medical system that doesn't bankrupt its citizens with health insurance or the cost of medicines.

I can remember being in a car with a representative of a steel company near Chicago. He mentioned he had 19 firearms in his household. When I asked him why, he said it was in case the Commies invaded. He was quite serious.

There are two oceans protecting America from invasion west and east, and a frozen north. A narrow isthmus to the south. The US is least likely of all countries to be invaded.

The paranoia about minority groups is based on fear they will one day become a majority. A succession of demagogues have thrived on that paranoia.

It's actually common in polling for people to complain about Obamacare, but support the Affordable Care Act.

Google can't find that.

Half of the country believes in MAGA. Trump is too old at the next election, but Musk is a young man with money to burn. Don't count Musk out carrying the MAGA flame in 2028.

Musk my carry the MAGA flame, but he won't be the Republican nominee. The U.S. Constitution says that only a native-born American can serve as president. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. Therefore, he can't be a candidate for president of the United States.

I blame regime controlled media for the divide and conquer tactics but it's up to Americans to back down and respect their neighbors in other states which I don't seem them doing. Unless the federal government is reduced down 90% and power given back to the states the fighting will continue.

Back in Boulder Colorado for one more week. Look what the kids did to my parents sign. 😂

Can you read? My post said I was in a car near Chicago.

I have been to the USA more times than I can count. Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Connecticut, Denver, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit. Nearly forgot San Antonio.

I might have been more places in America than you have.
