All for looking after animals -- breaks my heart how we treat them (always be kind to animals) -- but the above is tat. What are you going to do, stop stewing spinach when it says to stop picking on the plants?

But you can, I assume. Humans are highly evolved, rational animals and many have the luxury of humane options to minimize suffering. You are highly conflicted and contradictory in your post. Claiming your "heart is broken"  and claiming "always be kind to animals" , while you knowingly and proudly continue to support the most cruel and inhumane torture chambers and killing fields known...factory farms and slaughter houses...from where 75-90+% of the today's global meat supply comes. So what you're saying is that 15 minutes of your taste pleasure is more important than a lifetime of suffering and brutal killing of the sentient creatures you're consuming. Is that correct❓If so, then your heart is not broken and you are not at all kind to animals...other than maybe the family companion animals.

 

BTW you also deflect by throwing in a real clunker of a  strawman argument. Cows, pigs, chickens, goats, turkeys, dogs, cats, etc are all sentient fellow earthlings. They have families, friends, feelings, fears and emotions. They prefer comfort and companionship, love and LIFE over suffering, pain, horrendous conditions and premature, horrible deaths.

 

Plants do not. Spinach does not.

The retort is somewhat mawkish and naive, indicative of someone with way too much time on their hands. I bet you don't run red lights or step on ants either. Cattle farming is not right (but pretty humanely done when done right) as is so-called 'hunting' for game... guns against defenceless animals! But yes I eat meat, will continue to do so and won't be concerned with what the fragile folk think, but would not kick a dog. With that, I guess I am conflicted. We are an arrogant, failed species. It is what it is but there will be no suffering on the ethereal plane. Just to give you more ammunition, any of those animals would turn around and maul you given the chance and not give a flying one. Survival of the fittest, dude, but your way would not have us here in the first place.

Its a human based, devised and developed set of algorithms' mate.  AI is far from neutral,  or intelligent.

I assume if the subject of slavery was inserted, instead of veganism (infringing on your taste pleasure)...you'd both be totally onboard when AI comes to similar conclusions...which it does...without all the pushback. 

 

Some time in the not so distant future, I predict most of our global societies consensus will be that the horrific way animals have been and still are treated is on par with how horrifcally slaves were treated...and that it stops and becomes illegal. Difficult to fight BIG money, Big Meat and Big Dairy...but can be done when the rationalizing + cruel & ignorant support ceases. I certainly hope so anyway. 

As we all know, there is not one ounce of evidence that Vegans live longer than none Vegans, it just feels to them as if they do,  because their life is so very boring.  I imagine that death comes as a blessed relief.

It's been going on for 500,000 years, so don't hold your breath.  As a Vegan, you are no doubt too weak to hold your breath for very long anyway. 

True...humans have evolved as omnivores. However, most humans have also evolved as compassionate, objective and ethical. There is nothing nutritionally unique today about animal consumption that cannot be derived from plants and a 💯 % plant-based diet. Here's some fun facts comparing carnivores to herbivores. Which do we human animals more closely resemble❓

 The topic is not about health, nor longevity. It's about unnecessary human caused cruelty, suffering and death foisted upon non-human species for taste pleasure. It's about empathy towards Earth's other inhabitants. But of course you'd rather rationalize your deplorable behavior, deflect and strawman and not address or even consider the horrific reality.
