Teenager injured in Pattaya youth clash, mother demands police action
What does a 15 year old boy outside in the middle of the night? Maybe someone should explain to his mother that it is her job and responsibility to care for her son. But then, I guess she will argue she does just the same as many other parents in Thailand, nothing. -

Poll: Do you want Ukraine to WIN in the Russia-Ukraine war (it's a binary choice)
I will always choose the West - until the day the West has a war with Thailand - so it's an easy answer, even though I don't think much of Zelenskie, Ukraine is still an ally. Nothing personal against Russia or Putin though, they just aren't on our side. Same reason I don't support Hamas/Palestine: they are not part of the West; they are our adversary. Simply choice, really. That said, I'd obviously rather there were no wars, but that's not the world we live in. -

Texas Chicken Bids Farewell to Thailand
As a comparison at the end of 2023 there 1,000 KFC outlets in Thailand against 97 Texas Chicken outlets. https://www.asian-agribiz.com/2022/12/20/kfc-plans-for-80-new-stores-in-thailand/#:~:text=KFC now has 1000 stores, and tourist destinations in 2023. KFC now has 1000 stores in Thailand, and it plans to open 80 new branches in Bangkok and tourist destinations in 2023. Yum Restaurants International (Thailand), the franchise owner of KFC, expects its sales to grow 24% this year, the highest in four years. It seems to me, that if Texas Chicken was so much better than KFC, the positions would be reversed. -

BREAKING NEWS Second Assassination Attempt-Secret Service get Trump to safety
You’re being selective with your reading Jonny: From the DM article you linked: “According to his oft-updated X feed, Routh went from voting for Trump in 2016 to supporting Tulsi Gabbard in 2020 to demanding Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy form a unity team in 2024.” I do accept you probably need to look those names up to see where they are in the political spectrum. And then there’s this: During the George Floyd protests, he was preaching anti-police rhetoric but also used both 'BlackLivesMatter' and 'AllLivesMatter' as a hashtag. I’m not going to search out posts from members posting support for Haley, Vivek or using the refrain ‘All Lives Matter’ I don’t want to embarrass anyone more than they are already embarrassing themselves. -

Thailand issues four major announcements on new visa measures
Fortunately they apparently didn't think about it but a very simple way for them would be based on immigration rules where they assume you need 65.000 bahts per month to live here..so 800.000 bahts per year ..they tax on 800.000 bahts whatever they decide 5, 10 or 15%.. quick and simple.. they inform you have to go to RD and pay before 31st of march each year and join your TCC when applying for visa extension.. At least we would spare accountant/tax specialist fees.. They could say this is the minimum to pay.. but you should inform if you enter more and spend more... If people rent a house/condo for 30, 40 or 50.000 per month or more, they would assume you definitely are above 65.000 per month.. Then if you don't inform or lie.. penalties/criminal case for tax evasion/avoidance etc.. When elderly, it is difficult to be 6 months somewhere then fly to another place.. pay for 2 places rents or purchase (unless you wish to live with only one luggage of personal items) Then you have the flights bills, car renting in at least one of both places etc.. This would reach even more expensive than paying taxes ... and people who have a Thai family, kids at school cannot do that Have a good day -

Poll: Do you want Ukraine to WIN in the Russia-Ukraine war (it's a binary choice)
The Trump peace plan is to capitulate to all of Putin's territorial claims no matter how ridiculous or illegal. This is how Trump can falsely claim the war would have never have happened, or how he will end it "in 24 hours". Then when Trump wins he has made it very clear he will sabotage NATO or even withdraw from the treaty completely. Then Putin will be back for more. Starting with Poland and Baltic states. It would be incorrect to say this means Trump is as gullible as Neville Chamberlin, as this is their plan. "Peace for our time". Policy and players in a second Trump administration "Things would almost certainly play out differently in a second term in which Trump’s instinctive skepticism about NATO, affinity for Putin, and disdain for Ukraine would take charge. His campaign website says the United States should “finish the process we began under my Administration of fundamentally reevaluating NATO’s purpose and NATO’s mission.” That is oddly timed when Moscow has launched the bloodiest war in Europe since World War II, and NATO is as important as ever for deterring and containing Russia." https://www.brookings.edu/articles/could-nato-survive-a-second-trump-administration/
