In a continued effort to recover wreckage from the tragic small plane crash, authorities from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee (AAIC) and rescue teams have retrieved additional human remains, personal belongings of passengers, and crucial airplane parts.

The crash, which occurred on August 22, involved a Cessna Caravan C208 flight TFT209 from Suvarnabhumi to Koh Mai Si, located in Trat province. The aircraft crashed near Wat Khao Din in the Bang Pakong district of Chachoengsao, leaving all nine people on board missing. Following DNA testing by the local police, the identities of all nine victims have been confirmed, and their families have been able to hold religious ceremonies for the deceased.

As of September 2, AAIC officials, accompanied by district officers and rescue teams, continued their search of the mangrove forest near the crash site, extending their search within a 200-metre radius. Items recovered include banknotes, clothing, and various human remains, such as nails, fingers, and skin. The authorities are carefully marking the locations of these findings, awaiting further examination by investigators.

Among the wreckage, significant airplane parts were also found, and larger pieces are being removed with the help of heavy machinery. These materials are vital for the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

The plane's wreckage is located on private property, and the airline is working closely with the landowner to ensure proper compensation for the disruption caused by the incident. While the land was initially purchased for investment purposes, the owner expressed concern about its future use, given the tragic events that unfolded on the property. Nevertheless, they remain cooperative, allowing the authorities to complete their investigation.

Thai Flying Service Co., the owner of the downed plane, has been working with AAIC investigators to gather evidence to support the analysis of the accident's cause. The airline has also coordinated with authorities to ensure the crash site remains secure as they continue their efforts to retrieve the remaining debris and materials from the area.

Local police have confirmed that the investigation will proceed in accordance with legal protocols, with a continued focus on gathering evidence to determine the full circumstances of the crash. The AAIC made no comment on what they are looking at, as to the potential cause of the crash.

The landowners "remain cooperative, allowing the authorities to complete their investigation". As opposed to, what, obstructing an official investigation?

"the land was initially purchased for investment purposes, the owner expressed concern about its future use, given the tragic events that unfolded on the property" - code for impending money grab from the 'airline' for causing bad karma.

Not code, at all, compensation was clearly mentioned...

"the airline is working closely with the landowner to ensure proper compensation".

"...the 'airline' ..."

Why the inverted commas?... the owner of the plane is an airline.

Compensation for what, exactly? Damage to some mud and mangroves? That would be covered by the aircraft owners public liability insurance. Compensation for bad juju caused by deaths on the site is what I'm talking about. But this is hardly Santika pub territory, ie prime plot of land that post-fire no-one would touch for development for years.

The single quotation marks for 'airline' are to make clear that article describes the outfit as an 'airline' (ie quoting from the article) although it sadly now only has one other aircraft, another single-engine turboprop Caravan. Thus I choose not to describe it as an airline, since most people would, I suspect, consider an 'airline' to have more than one aircraft, regardless of the operation having an AOC.

Not dissimilar to using quotation marks in a context such as "responding to AseanNow's 'favourite pedant' ..."

That would be between the land owner and the airline or its insurers.  No one here is in any position to denigrate or mock the owner's claim.
